국문 초록

이 글은 1930년대 시를 다시 한 번 고찰하는 것을 목적으로 수행되었다. 1930년대는 모더니즘이라고 명명할 수 있는 시기였다. 1930년 당대 활동한 시인들 중에서 김기림이 언급한 모더니즘의 범주 안에서 호명할 수 있는 시인 중 특히 이상에 관심을 갖고 연구하였다. 작가로서의 이상과 시인으로서의 이상이 문단에서 차지하는 비중과 영향력을 고려하여 보다 선명한 공과를 드러냈던 시인 이상에 집중하였다. 1930년대 시사를 다시 한 번 되돌아보는 계기로 마련된 이 자리에서 선택한 것은 이와 같은 이유가 반영된 결과였다. ‘재론’, ‘재인식’, ‘재고’라는 담론 성격의 제목 아래 1930년대를 반추하기 보다는 한국현대문학사에서 그리고 한국현대시사에서 위상 재정립이 필요한 시인이 그렇기 때문에 더욱 이상이라는 판단이 들기 때문이었다. 근대와 탈근대의 양립하는 문학 사조에서 시인 이상은, ‘화자는’, ‘주체는’, ‘대상은’ 근대, 근대성이라는 자장 안에서 파생되고, 확장과 확대라는 현상으로 정의될 수 있음을 확인하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to reexamine poetry from the 1930s, a period that can be characterized as the era of modernism. Among the poets active during the 1930s, particular attention was given to Lee Sang, who can be identified within the scope of modernism as defined by Kim Ki-rim. The study focuses on Lee Sang as both a writer and a poet, examining his significance and influence in the literary scene. By emphasizing the contributions and limitations of Lee Sang as a poet, the research aims to provide a clearer understanding of his role. This focus reflects the intention behind revisiting the history of 1930s poetry, underscoring the need to reevaluate and redefine Lee Sang's position in the context of Korean modern literary history and modern poetry. Under the themes of “reexamination,” “reinterpretation,” and “reconsideration,” this study does not merely reflect on the 1930s but highlights Lee Sang as a poet whose reestablished position is critical. Situated at the intersection of modern and postmodern literary movements, Lee Sang’s works reveal that the speaker, the subject, and the object emerge, derive meaning, and expand within the framework of modernity and modern characteristics.
