제주지역 노인의 지역사회 계속거주에 미치는 영향요인 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 제주지역 노인의 지역사회 계속거주(Aging in Place)에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석하고, 제주지역의 특성을 고려한 노년기 AIP 지원 방안을 모색하기 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 2020년 보건복지부 노인실태조사의 제주지역 노인 375명 자료를 분석하였다. 지역사회 계속거주 영향요인은 노인의 기능적, 구조적, 현상학적, 생태학적 요인으로 구분하여 구성하였다. 주요 결과로는 첫째, 건강할 시 지역사회 계속거주 선택 비율은 98.2%였고, 건강악화 시 지역사회 계속거주 선택 비율은 59.5%로 더 낮았다. 둘째, 제주지역 노인의 지역사회 계속거주에 영향을 미치는 변인은 기능적 요인의 연령, 구조적 요인의 가구유형과 경제적 만족도, 현상학적 요인의 주택만족도와 주거환경만족도, 생태학적 요인의 이웃관계만족도로 나타났다. 이상의 결과를 바탕으로 제주지역 노인이 지역에서 일상생활을 영위하며 노후 맞기를 지원할 수 있는 정책적 제언을 논의하였다. 특히, 건강 악화 시 노인의 지역사회 계속거주 의사가 크게 낮아지는 것으로 나타나 건강한 일상생활을 보낼 수 있는 거주환경이 갖추어지는 것이 중요함을 강조하여 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This study examined the factors influencing Aging-in-Place(AIP) in older adults in the Jeju region. Also, the study tried to find supporting ways of AIP for older adults. The study used data from the 2020 Ministry of Health and Welfare Survey on Korea Older Adults and analyzed 375 cases of older adults in Jeju. The influencing factors of AIP consisted of functional, structural, phenomenological, and ecological factors. The main results are as follows: First, 98.2% of older adults in a healthy situation chose AIP, but this number drops to 59.5% when their health becomes weak and unhealthy. Second, the factors influencing the AIP of older adults in the Jeju area were age as a functional factor, household type and economic satisfaction as a structural factor, housing and residential environment satisfaction variables with a phenomenological factor, and satisfaction with neighborhood relationships as an ecological factor. Based on the above results, this study suggested the policy to support older adults in the Jeju area as they lead their daily lives and face old age. In particular, the willingness to AIP decreases significantly when the health of older people in the Jeju region deteriorates; the study emphasized and discussed the importance of creating a residential environment.
