장아이링(张爱玲) 산문에 나타난 조계지 상하이와 여성성 - 산문집 《张爱玲散文》을 중심으로

국문 초록

장아이링(张爱玲)은 1940년대 조계지 상하이에서 왕성하게 작품 활동을 했던 여성 작가이다. 그녀의 창작 생애는 조계지 상하이의 흥망성쇠와 유사한 패턴을 이룬다. 1920년대 후반에 작품 활동을 시작하여 1930년대를 지나 1940년대 초반에 정상에 오르고 1950년 이후 내리막길을 걷기 시작한다. 한국에서 장아이링에 관한 연구는 1980년대 중반부터 시작하여 현재까지 계속 이어지고 있다. 이에 관한 연구 논문 대다수는 장아이링의 소설을 텍스트로 삼고 있다. 필자는 장아이링 산문을 텍스트로 하여 소설 창작의 배경과 주된 관점을 하나하나 살펴보았다. 장아이링의 산문은 그녀의 일상과 삶에 관한 철학이 고스란히 녹아 있다. 당시 장아이링이 직면한 현실을 구체적으로 파악할 수 있고, 그녀의 집안 내력, 부모님과의 관계, 성장 과정과 글을 쓰게 된 구체적인 상황을 이해할 수 있다. 이는 장아이링의 생각이 어떻게 소설로 구현되고 묘사되었는지에 대한 배경 지식이 될 수 있고, 장아이링의 소설을 해석하고 분석하는데 새로운 관점을 제시할 수 있는 근거를 마련해준다. 필자는 장아이링의 산문집을 텍스트로 하여 그녀의 일상, 경험, 생각을 기반으로 한 그녀의 문학을 당시 상하이가 처한 역사적 사실과 연계시켜 조망해 보았다. 근대도시였던 조계지 상하이의 흥망성쇠와 장아이링 창작 생애의 흥망성쇠가 유사한 형태의 그래프를 형성하고 있음을 확인했다. 필자는 장아이링이 조계지 상하이에 형성된 서양의 문화가 중국의 전통과 뒤섞이고 착종되는 과정에서 드러낸 근대도시의 모습을 모더니즘과 포스트모더니즘적인 문학적 특징을 혼합한 창작 방식으로 조계지 상하이를 기이하게 그려내고 묘사했음을 분석하였다.

영문 초록

Zhang, Ai-Ling (张爱玲) is a female writer who was active in writing in Shanghai, Concession land in the 1940s. Her creative life forms a pattern similar to the rise and fall of Concession land Shanghai. She began her work in the late 1920s, passed the 1930s, reached the top in the early 1940s, and began to decline after 1950. In Korea, research on Zhang, Ai-Ling began in the mid-1980s and has continued to the present day. Most of the research papers on this use Zhang, Ai-Ling’s novels as texts. I examined the background and main perspectives of novel creation one by one using Zhang, Ai-Ling prose as text. Zhang, Ai-Ling’s prose incorporates the philosophy of her daily life and life. I can understand the reality facing Zhang, Ai-Ling at the time in detail, her family history, her relationship with her parents, her growth process, and the specific situation in which she wrote. This can be a background knowledge of how Zhang, Ai-Ling’s thoughts were embodied and described in novels, and provides a basis for presenting a new perspective in interpreting and analyzing Zhang, Ai-Ling’s novels. Using Zhang, Ai-Ling’s prose collection as a text, I looked at her literature based on her daily life, experiences, and thoughts in connection with the historical facts faced by Shanghai at the time. It was also confirmed that the rise and fall of the modern city of Concession land Shanghai and the rise and fall of Zhang, Ai-Ling’s creative life formed a similar graph. I analyzed that Zhang, Ai-Ling bizarrely depicted and described Concession land in a creative way that mixed modernist and postmodern literary characteristics with the appearance of a modern city that was revealed in the process of mixing and hybridizing with Chinese traditions.
