메타버스를 활용한 역사과 교사교육의 가능성과 한계

국문 초록

연구목적 이 연구는 교사양성과정에서 예비교사가 메타버스를 활용하여 역사과 수업 모듈을 개발하고 시연할 때 특징이 무엇인지 탐색하고, 메타버스 개발과 활용 경험이 수업 시연에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구방법 구체적으로 예비교사가 메타버스 플랫폼 활용 능력을 익히고, 과거를 디지털로 재현하며, 마이크로 티칭 프로그램을 개발, 적용하는데 참여했고, 이에 대한 교수자의 대학 강의 수행 및 참여자의 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구결과 이 연구의 구체적인 결과는 다음과 같다. 교과교육론 과목에서 메타버스를 활용한 강의에 참여한 결과 예비교사는 가상 공간에서 역사를 재현하고 온라인 마이크로 티칭을 통해 수업시연 능력을 재고하는과정에 참여함으로써 온라인 플랫폼에 대한 두려움을 넘어 수업에 활용할 수 있었다. 시공간의 제약을 넘어 가상의 수업 상황에서 학생 반응을 고려한 피드백을 포함한 수업 시연을 할 수 있었고, 메타버스에서 역사교육 콘텐츠를 생산하고 수업 시연에 적용해 봄으로써 자신들의 학생들을 위한 온라인 교수ㆍ학습 자료 개발과 수업의 기반을 마련할 수 있었다. 결론 AI 디지털 교육 시대에 예비교사의 수업 전문성 향상을 위해 메타버스 플랫폼 제작 보급뿐 아니라, 예비교사가 이 디지털 리터러시를 토대로 수업에서 활용할 수 있는 능력을 향상시키는 교사교육이 필요하다.

영문 초록

Purpose: This study aims to explore the characteristics when pre-service teachers in teacher training programs develop and demonstrate micro-teaching history lesson modules using the metaverse, and examines the impact of metaverse development and utilization experiences on micro-teaching. Methods: Specifically, pre-service teachers participated in acquiring skills to utilize metaverse platforms, digitally reenacting the past, and in the development and application of micro-teaching programs. Instructors conducted university lectures on this subject, and participant surveys were carried out to assess the process. Results: The research results showed that pre-service teachers who participated in a course on teaching methodology using the metaverse were able to overcome their fear of online platforms by engaging in the process of understanding history recreated in virtual spaces and improving their lesson demonstration skills through online micro-teaching. They were able to conduct lesson demonstrations that included feedback considering student responses in virtual class scenarios, overcoming the constraints of time and space. By producing and applying historical education content in the metaverse for lesson demonstrations, they could establish a foundation for developing online teaching and learning materials for their students. Conclusion: In the era of AI digital education, it is necessary not only to develop and distribute metaverse platforms but also to provide teacher education that enhances the ability of pre-service teachers to utilize this digital literacy in their teaching.
