예비보건교사가 학교현장실습에서 겪는 어려움에 대한 질적 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 예비보건교사들이 학교현장실습에서 어떠한 어려움을 겪고 있는지 탐색하는 데에 있다. 이를 위해 연구자는 중등학교에서 학교현장실습을 이수한 예비보건교사 9명을 면담하였다. 본 연구에 참여한 예비보건교사들은 대학에서 배운 것과 보건교사 업무 사이에서 괴리를 느끼고 있었으며, 수업과 학생지도를 하면서 교생으로서의 한계를 겪고 있었다. 또한, 예비보건교사들은 실습학교의 교사들, 동료예비보건교사들과 다른 교육관을 가지고 있는 경우, 이에 어떻게 대처해야 할지 어려움을 겪고 있었으며, 실습학교에서 수업을 하면서 교육행위 자체의 어려움에 직면하고 있었다. 본 연구결과는 직전교육인 대학에서 보건교육의 교과내용학과 학령기 학생을 대상으로 한 건강관리와 응급처치 역시 충분히 다룰 필요성을 제시한다. 또한, 대학과 실습학교에서는 교사들 간의 교육관의 차이와 교육활동 자체의 어려움을 적극적으로 다룰 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore the difficulties and challenges student teachers of health education in the process of their teaching practicum for one month. The author interviewed nine student teachers of health education in which they practicum in the middle school and high school. The main results were as follows: First, the prospective health education teachers felt gaps between what they learned in the university and teaching practice in their practicum schools; Second, the prospective health education teachers felt limitations in their role as student teachers, both in conducting lessons of health education and providing student guidance; Third, the participants faced challenges in reconciling different educational philosophies between teachers at their practicum schools and fellow prospective health education teachers; Last, while conducting classes at the practicum schools, the participants were engaged in ongoing reflection and inquiry into the issues that teachers inevitably dealt with. The findings suggested several implications to improve school practicum for the professional development of pre-service teachers of health education.
