국문 초록

이 연구에서는 대도시에 인접한 경산시 근교의 한 종족마을이 도시화 과정에서 겪은 변화를 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 경산시의 도시화가 근교농촌의 사회·경제적 측면에 초래한 변화와 종족조직에 미친 다양한 영향을 살펴보았다. 구체적으로 시기별로 영향을 미친 도시화에 대한 종족 성원 위주의 대응과 종족 성원 사이 그리고 종족 성원과 타성 사이에서 야기된 다양한 이해관계의 각축과 절충에 관한 이해를 도시공간의 구조화를 통해 접근하는 도시사적 연구 방법을 적용하였다. 환금작물재배와 겸업농의 증가는 종족원의 도시로의 유출을 가속화하였고, 이를 대신한 외지인의 유입이 증가하면서 오랫동안 종족집단 중심의 마을생활에서 소외되었던 외지인과 타성들의 자조적 협동집단이 생성되었다. 도시화의 진전으로 종중재산의 형태가 변경되면서 이를 적절히 관리하기 위한 조직도 변화하였다. 이에 위선(爲先)과 보종(補宗)에 우선했던 옛 종족집단의 기능과 면모는 점차 사라지고, 종중재산의 관리와 처분을 놓고 종족원 사이의 갈등이 심화되고 있다. 도시화가 근교 종족마을에 야기한 이런 상황은 현대사회에서 종족집단의 현실적인 기능 변화와 이에 따른 종중재산의 관리에 적용될수 있는 제도적 장치의 필요성을 고려하게 한다.

영문 초록

This study examines the changes experienced by a lineage village near Gyeongsan City, adjacent to a major urban center, during the process of urbanization. To understand the impact of urbanization on the social and economic aspects of rural areas near Gyeongsan City and its various effects on lineage organization, this study applies a research method of urban history, focusing on correspondence in response to urbanization over different periods. The cultivation of cash crops and an increase in diversified farming accelerated the outflow of lineage members to the city, leading to the influx of outsiders and the formation of autonomous cooperative groups among those who were traditionally marginalized in the lineage community. As urbanization progressed, the structure of intra-lineage property changed, resulting in organizational transformations to effectively manage it. Consequently, the traditional functions and aspects of lineage communities focused on hierarchy and lineage have diminished, giving rise to intensified conflicts among lineage members over the management and disposal of intra-lineage property. The study suggests that the implications of these changes in suburban lineage villages due to urbanization highlight the need for institutional mechanisms applicable to the realistic functional shifts within lineage communities and the management of intra-lineage property in contemporary society.
