국문 초록

연구자는 교육의 궁극적 목표가 기존 문화를 향유할 수 있음과 동시에 새로운 문화를 창조해 낼 수 있는 인간 육성이어야만 한다고 본다. 여기에서 기존 문화의 향유는 기존 문화에 대한 맹목적인 수동적 수용을 초월한 능동적 재해석이 수반되어야만, 풍부한 폭과 깊은 심연에서 수행될 수 있는 것이다. 또 새로운 문화의 창조는 기존 문화의 틀에 속박되지 않는 사고의 유연성 속에서 수행될 수 있는 것이다. 이러한 능동적 재해석의 능력과 사고의 유연성을 지닌 인간을 육성하기 위해, 바로 창의적 상상력 교육이 필요한 것이다. 그런데 이러한 상상력 교육의 내실 있는 실제적 구현을 이끌어내기 위해서는, 먼저 교육철학적으로 상상력 개념에 대한 명확한 규정 작업이 선결되어야만 한다. 이를 위해 연구자는 에드문트 후설(Edmund Husserl)과 키렌 이건(Kieran Egan)의 상상력 개념에 주목하여, 교육학적으로 활용하기 위한 상상력 개념에 관한 철학적 해명을 수행하고자 한다. 이러한 해명의 과정 속에서 연구자는 이 두 학자의 상상력 개념이 바로 ‘이성에 대한 교육자적 기능’을 공통적으로 지니고 있음을 밝혀내고자 한다.

영문 초록

In the opinion of the researcher, the ultimate goal of education must be to foster a person who can enjoy existing culture and, at the same time, can create a brand-new culture. Here, the enjoyment of existing culture can only be carried out in its rich breadth and deep abyss if it is accompanied by active reinterpretation that transcends the blind passive acceptance of existing culture. And the creation of a brand-new culture can only be carried out in the flexibility of thinking that is not bound by the framework of existing culture. In order to foster a person with this ability to actively reinterpret and flexibility of thought, creative imagination education is necessary. By the way, in order for such imaginative education to be implemented in a practical way, it is necessary to clearly define the concept of imagination in a pedagogical philosophy as a precondition. For this purpose, the researcher will pay attention to the concept of imagination of Edmund Husserl and Kieran Egan to conduct a philosophical elucidation of the concept of imagination for pedagogical utilization. In the process of this elucidation, the researcher will reveal that these two scholars' concepts of imagination have in common ‘the function as an educator for reason’.
