영문 초록

The korean dictionary has the adverb ‘or’ and the verb stem ‘or-’. They were ‘orai’ and ‘orai-’ as the middle korean. It is certain that the adverb ‘orai’ and the verb stem ‘orai-’ have been in existence in middle korean. But it isn’t certain that the adverb ‘or’ and the verb stem ‘or-’ are in existence synchronically in modern korean.The korean dictionary recognizes ‘or’ only as the adverb but not the noun. But I am certain of ‘or’ as the noun. In many examples I found ‘or’ as the noun. In many examples the noun ‘or’ appeare with copular '-i-'. It seems that in modern korean, because of the fault analysis, ‘or’ has been able to be analysed as the verb stem. But there is no evidence that in modern korean, the verb stem ‘or-’ is in existence.So I deny that in modern korean the stem verb ‘or-’ is in existence. It seems that the disappearance of the stem verb ‘or-’ is related to the monophthongization. I believe that because of the monophthongization the reconstruction has been possible.
