부산지역 인문학 프로그램 현황 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 2018년부터 2022년까지 부산지역 평생교육기관에서 진행된 인문학 프로그램의 현황을 구체적으로 살핀 것이다. 이를 위해 우선 지난 5년간의 평생교육기관별 운영 프로그램 통계 가운데 ‘인문학 프로그램’으로 정의내릴 수 있는 강좌들을 선별하였다. 그 결과 지난 5년간 부산지역에서 진행된 평생교육기관 프로그램 가운데 인문학 프로그램은 1556개로 전체 프로그램 대비 약 4.3%에 해당하였다. 다음으로 부산지역 인문학 프로그램의 운영 실태를 분석하였다. 이를 통해 부산지역 인문학 프로그램의 메이저 공급 기관은 평생학습관으로, 프로그램 수, 학습자 수, 재정지원 비중도 평생학습관이 가장 높게 나타났음을 알 수 있다. 행정구역별로는 부산진구가 전체 인문학 프로그램 중 가장 많은 263개(16.89%)의 프로그램을 진행하였고, 강서구는 10개(0.64%)로 가장 적은 프로그램을 공급하였다. 이러한 지역적 편차는 행정구역별 평생교육기관 수에서 기인한 것이다. 내용상으로는, 정형화된 내용의 인문학 프로그램이 연도별, 기관별로 반복되고 있음을 알 수 있다. 매해 동일한 인문학 프로그램이 동일한 평생교육기관에서 반복되거나 동일한 프로그램이 각기 다른 평생교육기관에서 진행되기도 했다. 물론 이러한 현상은 인문학 프로그램만의 현상은 아니고 평생교육 프로그램의 전반적인 양상이라 할 수 있다. 특히 평생교육 전문가 부족과 지속적인 관리의 어려움 등을 원인으로 들 수 있다. 한편으로는 참신하고 다양한 프로그램 개발을 위한 노력도 있었다. 특히 청소년과 어린이 및 노년을 수요 대상으로 하는 프로그램은 일반 성인 대상 프로그램과 차별화된 내용을 보였다. 또, 문화예술, 과학, 의학 등 다양한 분야의 학문과 융합한 형태의 인문학 프로그램이나 다문화나 코로나 등 사회적 이슈에 대응하고자 하는 프로그램들도 다수 등장하였다. 마지막으로 지역과 연계하여 부산지역의 정체성을 찾기 위한 인문학 프로그램들도 확인할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

This study examines the status of humanities programs operated at lifelong education institutions in Busan from 2018 to 2022 precisely. Based on the statistics of programs operated at each of the lifelong education institutions for the five years, this researcher selected the courses that could be defined as ‘humanities programs’ and analyzed the status of operation and content characteristics. As a result, among lifelong education institution programs conducted in Busan over the past five years, 1,556 humanities programs accounted for about 4.3% of the total programs. The major suppliers of humanities programs in Busan are lifelong learning centers, and it has been found that lifelong learning centers indicate the highest values in the number of programs and learners and financial support, too. Concerning administrative districts, Busanjin-gu provided 263 humanities programs (16.89%) which were the most, and Gangseo-gu supplied 10 programs (0.64%) which were the fewest. This regional deviation is attributed to the number of lifelong education institutions located in each of the administrative districts. Adults were the main target of demand for the humanities programs operated in Busan, but programs for children and teens formed large parts. About contents, it has been found that humanities programs based on standardized contents are repeated each year and in each of the institutions. Of course, this phenomenon is not unique to humanities programs, but can be said to be the overall aspect of lifelong education programs.In particular, the lack of lifelong education experts and lack of continuous management can be attributed. Meanwhile, there are also efforts to develop new and diverse programs. First, there are humanities programs that integrate studies in various fields such as culture and arts, science, and medicine. Also, there is a movement to respond to social issues, for instance, multiculturalism or COVID-19. Lastly, we can also find a number of humanities programs associated with the region so as to find the identity of the Busan area.
