발달장애학생의 성인기 전환 준비를 위한 학부모 자조모임 참여실행연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 학교기반 학부모 자조모임에 참여한 학부모의 경험과 임파워먼트 관점의 변화를 탐색하고 특수교육 현장에서 그 적용 가능성을 제안하기 위해 실시되었다. 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 실천적 참여를 강조하는 참여실행연구 방법을 사용하였으며, 특수학교 고등학교 3학년 및 전공과 발달장애 학부모 17명이 자조모임에 참여하였다. 연구절차는 문제의 진단과 주제의 범위 설정 이후 나선형의 자기반성적 실행연구 모형(계획→실행→관찰→반성)에 따라 총 2사이클이 진행되었다. 참여실행연구의 전 과정에서 일지, 관찰, 면담, 문서자료를 수집하였고 상호작용론의 관점과 지속적 비교방법에 기반한 분류 분석 방법을 통하여 자료를 분석하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 학부모 자조모임에 참여한 부모는 성인기 전환 준비를 위한 부모의 역할과 진로인식, 실제적인 정보수집, 구체적인 진로계획과 미래설계를 경험하였다. 둘째, 학부모 자조모임에 참여한 부모는 반성적 행동과 자기효능감 향상의 개인 임파워먼트, 심리적 치료 효과의 집단 임파워먼트, 발달장애인의 권리옹호와 학교와 함께 성장하는 지역사회 임파워먼트를 경험하였다. 셋째, 특수교육 현장에서 성인전환기 학부모 자조모임을 운영하기 위한 부모와 교사의 인식은 자조모임에 대한 부모의 다양한 인식의 차이를 이해하고 부모의 자발적인 참여를 비롯한 학교 구성원 간의 협력과 실천방안들을 구체적으로 계획해야 한다는 것이다. 연구결과를 통하여 학부모 자조모임은 발달장애 학부모들에게 상호협력이라는 자조의 가치와 기능을 통해 자녀의 성인기 진로를 준비하고, 임파워먼트 효과를 통해 부모 개인과 집단이 함께 성장하는 기회가 됨을 알 수 있었다.

영문 초록

This study was conducted to explore changes in parents' experiences and empowerment perspectives participating in school-based parent self-help group and to suggest their applicability at special education sites. In order to achieve these research goals, participatory action research methods were used to emphasize practical participation, and 17 parents who have children with developmental disabilities in high school senior and vocational training courses participated in the parents self-help group. The research procedure was conducted for a total of two cycles according to the spiral self-reflection study model (planning→execution→observation→reflection) after diagnosing of the problem and setting the scope of the subject. In the course of the participatory action research, the daily notes, observations, interviews and document data were collected and the data was analyzed through a classification analysis method based on the perspective of interaction theory and the continuous comparison method. The results are as follows: First, those who participated in the parents' self-help group experienced the parents' role, career awareness, practical information collection, detailed career plans and future design for preparing for the transition to adulthood. Second, they experienced personal empowerment in improving self-efficiency and self-reflection, collective empowerment in experiencing psychological treatment, awareness of the protection of the rights of the disabled, and growing community with the school. Third, the perspective of parents and teachers who led the parents' self-help group during the transition period at the special education site is that they should understand the differences in parents' diverse perceptions of self-help meetings, and plan concrete measures for cooperation and practice among school members, including voluntary participation by parents. The research results demonstrate that, parents' self-help groups provide opportunities for parents of children with developmental disabilities to prepare their children's adult careers through self-help values and mutual cooperation, and to grow with other individual parents and parents’ groups.
