춘향전 '신관도임 대목'의 변이 양상 고찰

국문 초록

춘향전의 신관도임 대목은 사설구성과 내용 면에서 경판계열과 완판계열이 차이를 보인다. 경판계열의 신관도임 대목은 대체로 노정기와 청도기사설로 사설이 구성되고 있는데, 이중 청도기사설은 점차 축약되는 경향을 보이지만, 신관노정기의 지명은 그대로 유지되고 있다. 그리고 경판 30장본의 신관노정기는 ‘신수원’을 포함하는 신작로를 나타내고 있다는 점에서 옛길의 노정을 나타낸 어사노정기와는 차이를 보인다. 반면에 완판계열의 사설구성은 대체로 노정기가 소략하고 복색사설의 비중이 높다는 점에서 경판과 차이를 보인다. 그러나 완판본 내에서도 이본에 따라 사설구성이 다른데, 완판 29장본에는 복색사설이 없다. 완판 33장본과 <장자백창본>의 신관노정기는 매우 소략한데, 이들 이본의 어사노정기 앞부분과 일치한다. 이러한 점으로 볼 때 신관노정기가 어사노정기와 구별되는 단위사설로 존재하지 않았다고 판단된다. 경판계열과 완판계열의 이러한 차이는 독서물로 정착한 경판계열과 연행되던 판소리의 영향이 지속되었던 완판계열의 차이가 아닐까 한다. 경판계열 신관노정기에 ‘신수원’이 들어간 점, 만화본의 내용으로 보아 경판계열의 신관도임 대목은 완판계열보다 후대에 형성되었을 것으로 추정되며, 완판계의 신관도임 대목은 판소리로 연행되는 과정에서 확대된 것으로 보인다.

영문 초록

In Chunhyangjeon, the scene that the newly-appointed governor is coming to Namwon is various according to version of the text. In the blockbook of Seoul, so called Kyungpan, and manuscript “Namwon's old story”, the scene is comprised of Nojeonggi and Cheongdoggi. Nojeonggi is a kind of itinerary, list of place names from Seoul to Namwon. Cheongdoggi is a list of flags which escort the new governor. As time went on, Cheongdoggi was getting shorter, but the place names remained. In Chunhyangjeon, there is another Nojeonggi, that belongs to the secret royal inspector. But the place name of the two Nojeonggi is not same. I assume that the difference is derived from the change of road. In woodblock printed text in Jeonju, so called Wanpan, the dresses of officials and servants and Cheongdoggi visualize the scene. In 33-sheet Wanpan and Pansori script of Jangjabaek, the master singer of Pansori, the itinerary of the governor's is very short and the words coincide with the front of the secret royal inspector's itinerary. I find the clue to the shortening of the Nojoenggi in newly-appointed governor's scene in Wanpan. I assume that the dresses of officials and servants was the main words in the scene of newly-appointed governor's from the beginning. And the Nojoeanggi of this scene borrow the a secret royal inspector's. I think this difference is from the cultural ground and the way that they enjoy Chunhyangjeon. Kyungpan was read as reading text, but Wanpan is the vehicle that remind the experience of pansori.
