판소리 사설의 디지털서사화 방안

국문 초록

이 글은 한국의 전통 판소리를 디지털콘텐츠의 창작 원천으로 원형콘텐츠화 할 수 있는 기법에 대한 연구이다. 판소리 사설에는 한국에서 계승되어 내려온 유․무형의 문화적 요소가 다양하고도 풍부하게 들어 있다. 문화 산업은 경제적 가치 외에도 문화적 정체성이나 가치관, 세계관의 표상을 창출해내기도 하는 만큼, 이에 비추어 볼 때, 전통 판소리 사설은 한국 문화의 상징 산업으로 확대할 수 있는 좋은 자료라 할 수 있다. 판소리는 시각을 위주로 하는 공연 서사이자, 공연 내용의 장면과 상황을, 보여주기가 아닌 말로 서술하는 구술 서사이다. 그러면서도 판소리는 다분히 음악성을 중시하는 청각 위주의 소리 서사이며, 한 사람의 창자가 여러 가지 역할을 대행하는 메타 서사이기도 하다. 또 현대의 판소리는 소리에 담긴 뛰어난 문학성을, 채록된 사설을 통해 따로 향유할 수 있는 문자 서사로서의 의미도 크다. 판소리의 복합적이고 다매체적인 특성을 십분 살리기 위해서는 채록된 판소리 사설 중심의 문자 텍스트 자료, 소리 중심의 음성 자료, 관련 그림이나 사진, 만화 등의 이미지 자료, 판소리 공연 장면을 녹화한 동영상 자료 등, 네 가지 형태의 자료를 수집하여 4층렬(4-tiers) 데이터베이스(DB)로 구축할 필요가 있다. 4층렬 DB란 4가지 유형의 자료를 상호 연계(문자 ⇄ 음성 ⇄ 이미지 ⇄ 동영상)하여 멀티미디어적인 속성을 갖게 하는 것이다. 이러한 4층렬 자료는 상호 일치․연계될 수 있도록 동기화(synchronization)한다. 4층렬 DB를 통합할 수 있는 관리 체계의 구조화를 위해서 각각의 데이터를 XML 형식으로 데이터베이스(DB)화 하여 저장․운영한다. 이어 판소리에 등장하는 캐릭터와 사건은 오디오, 비디오, 텍스트 부분으로 구분하여 정리한다. 이러한 작업은 작품을 새롭게 재배열함으로써 기존 플롯과는 다른, 새로운 플롯으로 전환할 수 있는 가능성을 마련하는 것이다. 이것은 일방향적이고 단선적인, 즉 언어예술작품을 읽는 종이 독법의 관례로부터 이탈(Out of the language Rut)가능성을 도모하는 것으로, 채록된 판소리 사설을 문자로 읽을 때 야기될 수 있는 단편적인 ‘독서 습관’을 벗어나 시각적․입체적이면서도 복합적이고도 유연한 독법이 가능할 수 있도록 유도하는 작업이다. 본고에서는 판소리뿐만 아니라 이야기를 근간으로 하고 있는 모든 언어예술을 소비하는 사람들이, 즉 목가적인 취향의 문학인뿐만 아니라 다양한 분야의 다양한 목적을 가진 사람들의 언어예술작품에 대한 접근성을 용이하게 하는 방안을 찾으려 했다. 그 방안의 하나로 이 글에서는 전통적인 문자 독법을 탈피하여 다른 매체적 가치로의 전환이 용이하게끔, 해체 방식을 기반으로 한 통합과 융합의 전략 가능성을 타진해 보았다.

영문 초록

This study aims to find a way to use traditional Pansori for prototype contents as a source of creative digital contents. Pansori narratives include tangible and intangible inherited Korean cultural elements. As cultural industry create not only economic value but also cultural identity, one's values and world view, traditional Pansori narratives can be good sources of Korean symbolic cultural industry. Pansori is an oral narrative telling scenes and situations rather than showing as well as a performance narrative focused on optic. In addition, Pansori is a musicality centered sound narrative and also a meta narrative which a singer plays multi roles. And modern Pansori is meaningful in a way of text narrative which contains excellent literacy and the words of a song. It is necessary to establish a 4-tier Database putting 4 types of data (text data, sound data, image data, motion data) together in order to employ the mixed and multi-media characteristics of Pansori. It gives multi-media character by connecting 4 types of data called the 4-tier Database. Such a 4-tier data becomes synchronized by getting mutual consistency and connection. Each data will be saved and operated in an XML type database in order to construct the management system which can unite 4-tier Database. And characters and incidents will be arranged in the parts of Audio, Video and Text types. Such operation will make the possibilities to change an existing plot to a new one by rearranging works. This is a trial of the possibility of getting out of the language Rut of a paper reading method which is one-way and unidimensional. And also it leads visual, multi-dimensional, mixed and soft reading method rather than simple 'reading habit' which can result from reading a Pansori narrative. This study tries to find an easy way to approach language-art works produced by the people with various purposes in various areas not only by the people with pastoral taste. As one of the methods, this thesis studies the possibility of synthesis based on the reconstruction in order to ease the shift from the traditional text reading to other types of media value.
