에코뮤지엄개념을 적용한지역문화유산의 관광자원화방안

국문 초록

본 연구는 천안시 삼태리 마애불을 중심으로 생태박물관 개념을 적용하여 지역문화유산을 관광자원으로 활용하기 위한 방안을 마련하는데목적이 있다. 에코뮤지엄의 개념을 통해 문화유산이 행정 또는 제도적인 부문에서 잘 관리되고 훼손되지 않은 채 보존되어야 한다는 것에서그치지 않고, 관광객을 비롯한 많은 이가 유산의 기능과 역할을 누리는기회를 얻음으로써 유산의 가치를 체험하고 대중이나 지역사회에서도유산의 지속가능성에 대해 공감할 수 있게 되는 유산의 활용방법을 찾고자 하였다. 구체적인 연구대상으로 천안시 삼태리에 소재한 마애여래입상을 설정하고 활용방안을 논하기 위해 전개한 본고는 에코뮤지엄의관점에서 마애불과 오랜 세월을 함께한 지역사회의 자원을 포함하여 살펴보아야 할 것을 제안하였다. 연구의 과정은 에코뮤지엄의 개념에 대한 논의를 전개하는 것을 시작으로 삼태리 마을과 유사점을 가진 국내외 사례를 분석하였다. 그 후 삼태리의 마을자원을 고찰하고 삼태리 마애여래입상의 정보를 살펴보았다. 마지막으로 삼태리의 마을자원을 중심으로 에코뮤지엄의 개념을 재정의 한 후 관광자원의 측면에서 적용방안을 제시하였다. 적용방안은 삼태리의 자연, 사회, 문화적 자원을 기반으로 종착지로 마애불을 설정하는 에코뮤지엄의 개념을 반영하였다. 핵심적으로 마을을 중심으로 마애불로 이어지는 길은 각각의 주제를 반영하여 특색을 부여할 것을 제안하였다. 이로써 마애불은 단독으로 종교유산의 가치뿐만 아니라 오랜 기간 마을의 흥망과 함께 해온 마을유산의 가치를 부여받게 되며 흥미롭고 다채로운 매력물의 역할로 확장되어나아갈 수 있다. 본 연구는 중요성이 높아지는 문화유산 활용방안에서관광의 관점으로 에코뮤지엄을 통해 문화유산과 지역사회의 공존방안을 제시했다는데 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to develop a plan for utilizing local culturalheritage as a tourism resource by applying the concept of an ecologicalmuseum centered on Maaebul in Samtae-ri, Cheonan-si. Through theconcept of the eco-museum, cultural heritage should be well-managed andpreserved in the administrative or institutional sectors, and many people,including tourists, should try to experience the value of heritage and findways to use it to sympathize with the sustainability of heritage. This paper,which was developed to establish and discuss ways to utilize the MaaeBuddha statue located in Samtae-ri, Cheonan-si, suggests that it should beexamined from the perspective of the eco-museum, including the resourcesof the community who have spent many years with Maaebul. The studybegan with a discussion on the concept of an eco-museum and analyzeddomestic and foreign cases with similarities to Samtae-ri Village. Afterthat, the village resources of Samtae-ri were reviewed, and information onthe standing of Maaeyeorae in Samtae-ri was examined. Finally, after re-defining the concept of an eco-museum centered on village resources inSamtae-ri, an application plan was proposed in terms of tourism resources. The application plan reflected the concept of an eco-museum that establi-shed Maaebul as its final destination based on Samtae-ri’s natural, social,and cultural resources. At the core, it was proposed that the road leadingto Maaebul, centered on the village, should reflect each theme and charac-teristics. As a result, Maaebul alone is given not only the value of religiousheritage but also the value of village heritage that has been with the riseand fall of the village for a long time and can be expanded to the role ofinteresting and colorful attractions. This study is meaningful in that it pre-sents a plan for the co-existence of cultural heritage and local communitiesthrough an eco-museum from the perspective of tourism in a plan to utilizecultural heritage that increases in importance.
