국문 초록

라디안에 관한 기존의 교육적 논의는 대부분 학생들의 라디안 이해 실태 조사에 한정되고, 학습 지도에 관한 논의는 본격적으로 이루어지지 않았다. 라디안의 효과적인 지도에 관한 연구를 비롯한 라디안에 관한 교육적 논의는 라디안의 본질에 대한 이해에 기초해야 한다. 이에 이 연구에서는 라디안에 대한 이론적 분석을 통해 이후 라디안의 교수 학습 실제에 관한 연구의 기초를 놓는다. 라디안은 각의 크기와 동질량의 비라는 두 측면을 복합적으로 지니고 있는 개념이다. 라디안의 개념 지도는 라디안이 가진 이 양면적 특성과 관련하여 라디안의 좋은 점과 유용성을 학생들이 인식하게 하는 방향으로 이루어져야 한다.

영문 초록

This study is to provide a base for discussions on teaching and learning of radian through a theoretical analysis of it. Radian possesses two-fold comprehensive properties of measurement as a magnitude and a pure number. As a magnitude of an angle, it has some theoretical advantages in mathematics and in physics, in spite of its non-superiority to other angular measures in practical sense. As a pure number, it has some advantages in that it simplifies theoretical developments of trigonometric functions and justifies omitting the unit in the calculations and final expressions in physics. Radian should be taught and learnt with an appreciation of the advantages of the two-fold properties. Activities to measure angles from various viewpoints may be helpful for this. Students' awareness of the advantages of radian needs to be stimulated and deepened repeatedly as related content appears.
