국문 초록

본 연구에서는 초등학교 학생들이 도형 내용 중에서도 추상적인 개념이라 더욱 어려워하는 각과 각도에 대한 학생들의 이해와 오개념을 분석하였다. 서울특별시 산하 11개 교육지원청 소속 초등학교 4학년 550명을 대상으로 각과 각도에 대한 수준별(3개 수준) 문항을 제시하여 학생들의 이해를 탐색하고 각과 각도에 대한 학생들의 오개념을 분석하여 유형화하였다. 이를 통해 학생들이 구조화되고 정형화된 각과 각도 문제는 비교적 잘 해결하나 실생활과 연결된 문제해결에는 어려움을 겪으며, 도구적 이해보다 관계적 이해가 미흡함이 나타났다. 이러한 측면에서 학생들이 현실적인 문제 상황을 합리적ㆍ융통적ㆍ효율적으로 해결할 수 있도록 지원하는 학교 현장의 방안 모색이 필요하다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the students' understanding and misconception about the angles by looking at problem solving for the angles of 4th graders. For this purpose, 550 students in 4th grade in elementary schools belonging to Seoul Office of Education were offered questions about angles to investigate students' understanding. Afterwards, students' misconceptions about angles were analyzed and categorized. Results showed that students solved the structured and formalized angle problems relatively well. On the other hand, they showed difficulty in solving problems related to real life, and lacked relational understanding rather than instrumental understanding. Findings from this study indicate that it is necessary to find a way for schools to help students solve realistic problems in a rational, flexible, and efficient way.
