지역어 실태 조사 현황 및 디지털 방안 모색

국문 초록

이 글은 2004년부터 2020년까지 지역어 사업단에서 조사한 전국적인 방언 조사와 2007년부터 2013년까지 민족 생활어 사업단에서 조사한 특수 직업어(생활어)와 동해, 서해, 남해, 제주해의 어촌 생활어의 현황과 그 성과를 살펴보고 이를 통해 디지털화할 수 있는 활용 방안을 모색한 것이다. 이 글의 주제를 명확하게 하기 위해 몇 용어에 대한 개념을 살펴본 후 각 사업의 연구 방법, 연구 결과물을 중심으로 그 현황과 활용 방안을 모색해보았다. 이들 사업은 조사 방법에서는 다소 차이가 있지만 모두 국립국어원에서 전국적인 방언 조사의 일환으로 기획하였다는 점과 방언 자료를 구축하는 것을 목적으로 시행하였다는 점에서는 공통점을 지니고 있다. 전국적인 조사로 구축된 방언 자료는 언어문화 자산의 보존이라는 의미를 가진다. 그런 점에서 전국적인 방언 조사는 국가적 차원에서 지속적인 사업으로 추진할 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

This study aims to grasp the outcomes of and the current status of not only the nationwide research on regional dialects conducted by the Regional Language Project Group of the National Institute of Korean Language, which has conducted its supplementary research from 2004 to 2020, but also research on special jargons(everyday words) and everyday Korean language in fishing villages in East Sea, West Sea, South Sea, and Jeju Sea in the southern parts of the Korean peninsula, which was conducted by the Everyday Korean Language Project Group of the National Institute of the Korean Language from 2007 to 2013. In addition, this study sought the ways to utilize them. In order to clarify the subject of this study, it firstly examined the concept of several terms and looked into the current status and the plan to use, focusing on the research methods and results of the projects. Although these projects are somewhat different in their survey methods, they all have something in common in that they were planned by the National Institute of Korean Language as part of nationwide dialect research and that they were carried out for building dialect data. The dialect data gathered through the nationwide research is meaningful in that it preserves language and cultural assets. In this respect, nationwide dialect research projects should be conducted continuously at the national level, including the National Institute of Korean Language.
