국문 초록

月洲 蘇斗山(1627~1693)은 조선 현종과 숙종대의 관료이자 학자이다. 같은 시기 禮訟 논쟁과 잦은 換局으로 소두산의 관료 생활에는 많은 변화가 있었다. 그의 문집인 『월주집』에 수록된 行狀과 年譜를 통해 인맥과 경력, 일생의 부침을 확인할 수 있다. 소두산은 송시열과 송준길의 제자라는 점, 문과 장원급제를 했다는 점, 사간원과 사헌부 관직을 거쳤다는 점, 여러 지역의 지방관을 역임한 점, 문관이지만 公洪道 水使, 평안도 兵使까지 역임함으로써 문무관직을 두루 경험했다는 점으로 많이 알려져 있는 인물이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 소두산과 그의 문집인 『월주집』연구는 부족한 편이다. 이 글은 『월주집』에 나타난 17세기 후반의 동래부의 모습과 소두산이 동래부사로 재임하면서 교류한 사람들에 대해 주목하였다. 동래부사로 재임하면서 쓴 시가 83수에 이르는데, 이 시를 통해 17세기 후반의 동래부의 상황을 살펴보았다. 그의 시에는 동래부 지역에 각인된 임진왜란의 기억, 지방관의 시선으로 본 동래부의 생활, 동래부 名所 등 동래부의 인문환경이 나타나 있다. 그리고 지방관의 업무와 관련된 동래부사의 면모를 살필 수 있다. 특히 <蓬萊府四十韻>이란 長詩에는 부임한 후 1년 동안 동래부에 거주하면서 본 풍경과 주변 환경에 대한 인식이 총 망라되어 있다. 소두산은 조선후기 對日關係가 정비되는 시기에 동래부사로 부임하는 인물이다. 1678년 倭館이 이전하였고 이에 수반되는 여러 約條가 체결되었다. 그러므로 소두산의 시와 글에는 17세기 후반 조일관계를 기반으로 한 두 나라 사람들의 움직임도 찾아볼 수 있다. 일본 사절을 응접하기 위해 동래부로 파견된 조선 관료, 동래부에 체류하는 조선 상인, 무역에 주력하는 동래부 사람들이 등장한다. 그리고 일본인에 대한 시선, 일본인과의 교류 등에 관한 내용도 『월주집』을 통해 아울러 살필 수 있다.

영문 초록

Wolju So Du-San(1627-1693) is a bureaucrat and scholar in the reigns of King Hyeonjong and King Sukjong of the Joseon Dynasty. His personal connections, careers, and ups and downs of a lifetime can be observed through his behaviors and the chronological list included in Wolju-jip, his collection of literary works. So Du-San has been known by the following facts：He was a disciple of Song Si-Yeol and Song Jun-Gil. He passed first in the civil service literary examinations. He went through government posts of Sagan-won and Saheon-bu. He successfully served as a local governor of various regions. He had experiences as a military officer as well as a civil servant, serving as a local navy commander of Gonghong-do and military commander of Pyeongan-do. Nevertheless, there are rather insufficient studies of So Du-San and Wolju-jip. This study paid attention to what the Dongnae-bu was like in the late-17th century and the people with whom he made an exchange during his term of office as the Dongnae Magistrate. He wrote 83 poems during his term of office as Dongnae Magistrate, through which this study examined the situations of Dongnae-bu in the late 17th century. It is possible to see the cultural environment of Dongnae-bu of the time, his life in Dongnae-bu viewed as a local governor, and the attractions of Dongnae-bu through the poems. It is also possible to look into the images of a local governor concerning the job of Dongnae Magistrate. In particular, the long poem titled “Forty Rhymes at Bongnae-bu” covers all his awareness of the landscapes and surrounding environments viewed while he was residing in Dongnae-bu. Especially, So Du-San is a figure who was appointed as Dongnae Magistrate at the time when Joseon’s relationship with Japan was renovated during the late-Joseon Dynasty period. In 1678, the Japan town was moved in, and several agreements were concluded accordingly. Thus, So Du-San’s poems and writings show the activities of people of the two countries in the relationship between Joseon and Japan during the late-17th century. The writings show the Joseon bureaucrats dispatched to Dongnae-bu to receive a Japanese envoy, the Joseon merchants sojourning in Dongnae-bu, and the people in Dongnae-bu, who gave their best for trade. They also include details about the perspective toward and exchange with the Japanese people.
