국문 초록

목적：이 연구는 2015 개정 초등 국어과 교과서에 신설된 연극 단원에 대한 교사들의 인식과 지도 실태를 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 방법：인천시 초등학교 5-6학년 교사를 중심으로 설문조사를 시행하고, 초첨 집단 인터뷰와 전문가 인터뷰를 진행하여 논의 주제를 탐구하고자 하였다. 결과：교사들은 연극은 ‘무대체질’인 교사들에게 적합하며 연극 지도는 ‘부담스러운 활동’으로 인식하고 있었다. 이는 초등연극교육의 놀이성이나 비구조적 접근방식에 대한 공감대가 형성되지 못한 결과로 보인다. 반면 연극 활동이 학생들에게 ‘표현’, ‘공연’, ‘의사소통’, ‘생각이나 감정의 추체험’ ‘즐거움’을 경험하도록 유도한다는 점에서 가치를 인정하고 있었다. 연극 단원은 주로 담임교사가 실행하였으나 그중 64%는 연극 단원을 생략하거나 축소하고, 재구성하여 진행하였다. ‘외부예술강사연계 수업’을 진행한 경우도 대상 교사의 36%에 달했다. 결론：교사들은 연극 단원의 교육적 가치를 인정하나 직접 수행하는 데에는 부담감과 어려움을 느끼고 있으며 외부예술강사와의 협업에 익숙하지 못한 상황이다. 따라서 이를 개선하기 위한 지원 방안을 모색해야 한다.

영문 초록

Purpose：The purpose of this study is to analyze teachers’ perceptions and instructional status of theater units newly established in the 2015 revision of Korean language textbooks. Methods：A survey was conducted focusing on teachers in the 5th and 6th graders in Incheon Elementary School, and attempted to explore the topics of discussion in depth by conducting focus group interview and expert interviews. Results：Teachers perceived the play as suitable for teachers who were “stage constituencies,” and theatrical instruction was “a burdensome activity.” This seems to be the result of the lack of consensus on the play ability and non-structural approach of elementary theater education. On the other hand, it was recognized for its value in that theatrical activities induce students to experience ‘expression’, ‘performance’, ‘communication’, ‘experience of thought or emotion’ and ‘enjoyment’ The theater members were mainly performed by their homeroom teachers, but 64% of them were “omitted or reduced” and reorganized the theater members. In the case of ‘External Arts Instructor-Linked Class’, 36% of the target teachers. Conclusion：In order to increase the effectiveness of performance of the drama unit, it is necessary to support teachers to rediscover the purposes of drama unit and to relieve the burden of the performance, and to improve the situation in which they are not familiar with collaboration with invited professional art instructors.
