국문 초록

이 논문은 艮齋 田愚의 제자로서 전주의 三齋 중 한 사람인 裕齋 宋基冕의 의리사상을 검토한 것이다. 유재는 근대문명의 격랑 속에서 세상과 일정한 거리를 유지하며 고고한 선비정신을 지켰던 유학자이다. 그는 전통적인 衣冠을 고수하였고 끝까지 머리 깎기를 거부했으며 창씨개명도 하지 않은 채 두 스승의 뜻을 이어받아 自靖하는 선비로서 義理를 지키려고 노력했다. 그는 일제강점기가 끝나고 조국의 광복을 맞이했지만 결국 강대국에 의해 남북이 분단된 현실에 대해 신랄하게 비판했다. 유재의 의리사상은 『유재집』3권 <雜著>에 있는 ｢妄言｣(1)·(2)에 잘 나타나 있다. 지금까지 유재에 대한 연구는 그의 삶과 학문, 詩·書藝를 중심으로 한 예술론 및 경세론·성리사상 등에 집중되어 있었다. 이에 착안하여 본 연구에서는 ｢망언｣을 중심으로 유재의 의리사상을 검토하였다. 이를 위해 유재의 家系와 학문적 연원을 살펴보고, 그의 의리사상이 누구의 영향을 받아 어떤 과정을 통해 형성되었는지, 그리고 그 특징은 무엇인지 조명하였다. 유재의 의리사상에 대해서는 義利相成의 권도론과 尊君重民의 정치론으로 구분하여 살펴보았다.

영문 초록

This paper examines the idea of righteousness of Yoojae Song Ki-Myeon, a disciple of Ganjae(艮齋) and one of Jeonju’s Samjae(三齋). Yoojae was a Confucian scholar who kept certain distance from the world amid turbulent times of modern civilization and maintained a noble spirit of Classical Confucian Scholarship. He adhered to donning traditional formal attire, refused to shave his hair until the very end, and tried to uphold his righteousness by inheriting the will of his two masters without even changing his name. He greeted the liberation of his country after the Japanese Colonial Period, but he harshly criticized the reality in which the South Korea and the North Korea are divided by the great powers in the end. Yoojae’s idea of righteousness is well illustrated in ｢Mang-Eon｣(1) and (2) which is in the third volume of Yoojae’s writing collection called . The study of Yoojae has been focused on his life and scholarship, art theory centered on poetry and calligraphy, and governing theory(經世論), Neo-Confucianism until now. With this in mind, this study examines Yoojae’s idea of righteousness focusing on ｢Mang-Eon｣. With this objective in mind, we will examine Yoojae's scholarly ancestry and academic background, and through whom and through what process his idea of righteousness was created. We study Yoojae's idea of righteousness by dividing it into the ‘Kwon-do theory(權道論)’ of ‘Ui-li sangseong(義利相成)’ and the political theory of ‘Jongun-Joongmin(尊君重民)’.
