국문 초록

붓다의 전생 구법담(求法譚)에는 자신의 육체 등을 희생(공양)하는 사신(捨身)구법담이 있는데, 본고는 그 가운데 혈서구법담(血書求法譚)을 중심으로 살펴보았다. 혈서구법담은 다시 혈서사경(血書寫經)과 혈서사송담(血書寫頌譚)으로 구분하였다. 피부, 뼈, 피를 지필묵(紙筆墨)으로 삼아서 구법을 하는 것은 공통하지만, 혈서사송담은 대승보살과 대승경전을 대상으로 하는 혈서사경과는 달리, 게송(사구게)과 붓다의 전생과 밀접하다. 혈서사송담의 대표적인 『대지도론』의 낙법보살담은 후대에 구법자의 이름 등이 바뀌면서 여러 경전에 인용되었지만, 특히 『불설화수경』에는 배고픈 나찰에게 몸을 공양하기로 하고 게송을 들은 설산동자담과 내용이 혼재되어 나타나기도 한다. 한편, 사신구법과 혈서사송담 등은 보시(布施)와도 매우 밀접하다. 하지만 일반적 보시의 구분인 재시(財施), 법시(法施), 무외시(無畏施)에는 속하지 않으므로, 보살의 보시와 관련하여 살펴보았다. 경전에 나타난 보살의 보시는 두 가지로 구분되는데, 보시의 명칭에 따른 구분과 보살의 구분에 따른 것이다. 보시의 명칭에 따른 구분은 『생경』 등에서는 내시(內施), 외시(外施), 대시(大施)의 3종이지만, 『화엄경』에서는 10종으로 구분하고 있다. 그런데, 명칭에 따른 보시의 내용이 일정하지 않아서 낙법보살담의 혈서담이 경전에 따라 내시, 또는 외시로 구분되기도 한다. 보살의 구분을 따르면, 낙법보살담은 무생법인보살의 보시행인 것이다.

영문 초록

In the Buddha’s past life Story of seeking for Dharma (求法譚), there is a Self-Sacrifice Story of seeking for Dharma(捨身求法譚) in which his body, etc. are sacrificed, and this paper explored it focusing on Hyoulser-gubeopdam (血書求法譚). Hyoulser-gubeopdam was further divided into Blood-writting-Copying Sutras (血書寫經) and Hyoulser-sasongdam (血書寫頌譚). Dharma-seeking using skin, bone, and blood as paper-pen-ink(紙筆墨) is something in common here, but Hyoulser-sasongdam is closely related to Gatha_poems (四句偈) and Buddha’s past life, unlike Blood-writting-Manuscripts which targets MahayanaBodhisattva and Mahayanasutras. A representative Hyoulser-sasongdam, Nakbeopbosaldam of “Mahāprajñāpāramitaśāstra”(『大智度論』) was cited in several sutras as the name of the dharma-seeker was changed later on, but especially in “Bulseolhwasugyeong”(『佛說華手經』) the body was decided to be consecrated to the hungry Raksasa, and Seolsandongjadam(雪山童子譚) that heard Gatha_poems and the contents would appear mixed. In the meanwhile, Self-Sacrifice-seeking for Dharma(捨身求法) and Hyoulser-sasongdam, etc. are also very close to Dāna (布施). However, since they do not belong to the general classification of Dāna such as Jaeshi (財施), Beopshi (法施), and Mu Weishi (無畏施), we examined the Dāna of Bodhisatva. Dāna of Bodhisattva appearing in sutras are divided into two types, which is according to the classification of Dāna and the classification of Bodhisatva. As for the classification according to the called names of Dāna, there are three types of Dāna such as Naeshi (內施), Weishi (外施), and Daeshi (大施) as in the “Jātaka Sutra”(『生經』), etc., but it is classified into 10 kinds in the “Avataṃsaka Sūtra”(『華嚴經』). However, because the contents of Dāna according to the called names are not constant, the Hyoulserdam(血書譚) in the Nakbeopbosaldam would be also classified as Naeshi or Weishi depending on the sutra. According to Bodhisattva's classification, Nakbeopbosaldam is the Dāna-pati(布施行) of Autpattika-dharma-ksānti Bodhisattva.(無生法忍菩薩)
