日本語教育の観点から日韓翻訳を考える

국문 초록

오늘날까지 번역은 어학교육에서 중요한 역할을 하지 못하고 있다. 번역은 주로 출발어(대상어)인 외국어를 도착어(목표어)인 모어로 바꾸는 작업이기 때문에 커뮤니커티브 어프로치 (communicative approach method)를 중시하는 지금의 외국어교육에서는 교육에 활발하게 이용되지 않았다. 번역은 출발어를 모어로 바꾸는 기호　변환이 아니라 목표어의 문화나 언어의식 등을　콘텍스트에 맞추어 옮기는 작업이다. 그래서 모어 구사력은 제2언어학습에 꼭 필요한 능력이다. 그러므로 번역하기에는 최소한 두 언어의 지식과 두 문화 사이의 공통점과 차이점에 대한 이해가 있어야 하며 특히 모국어 사용능력과 기타 상식과 문화에 대한 번역자의 소양과 학습이 중요하다. 이를 바탕으로 두 언어의 상호작용을 통한 자연스러운 번역이 된다. 이 논문은 번역작업 자체가 외국어 수업의 모델이 될 수 있는 가능성을 탐구한다. 본 연구에서는 번역 수업에서 한국인과 일본인 학습자의 일한 번역을 두 가지 관점에서 분석한다. 첫째는 학습자의 일한 번역문을 문법적, 어휘적, 문화적 측면에서 분석한다. 두 번째는 일한 번역 과정에서 학습자의 오용 요소를 분석한다. 이러한 분석을 토대로 일본어교육에서 번역의 역할을 검토하면서 Cummins (2005)의 ｢언어간 상호의존 가설 The Interdependence Hypothesis｣과 유럽연합 공통언어 표준등급 (CEFR)의 다중언어･다중문화주의에 입각한 번역 교육에 관하여 분석한다. 그리고 번역과정에서 잃게 되는 언어적 문제점과 일본어교육을 위한 번역학습의 효용성과 가능성을 분석한다.

영문 초록

Until now, translation has not played important role in language education. As translation requires native language, it was not used for education in foreign language education that emphasizes a communicative approach. Translation is not a symbol conversion that changes the target language into the mother tongue, but a task of translating the culture or language consciousness of the target language depending on the context. Therefore, proficiency in language is a significant part of learning second language. When it comes to translation, it is necessary to understand the relationship between the two languages ​​and knowledge such as the culture and linguistic consciousness of the targeted language. It becomes a natural translation through the interaction of the two languages. In this study, the Japanese-Korean translation of learners in the translation class is analyzed from two perspectives. The first is to analyze the learner's Korean translation in terms of grammatical, lexical, and cultural aspects. The second is to analyze the factors that learners lose in the Japanese-Korean translation process. Based on this analysis, while examining the role of translation in Japanese language education, cummins (2005)'s The Interdependence Hypothesis and CEFR's multilingual and multiculturalism-based translation education are analyzed. And the linguistic problems lost in the translation process and the utility and possibility of translation learning for Japanese language education are analyzed.
