국문 초록

이 글은 이원 시에 나타난 신체 변용의 양상을 포스트 휴먼-여성적 시각에서 분석하였다. 이를 위해 로지 브라이도티의 논의를 참고하였다. 브라이도티는 반(反)휴머니즘에 입각하여 포스트휴먼-여성의 잠재성을 모색하는데, 그 핵심은 생기론적 유물론이다. 생기론적 유물론은 자연-문화의 상호작용에 의해 변화하는 존재 양식을 설명하는 개념인데, 여기서 변화는 신체와 관련된다. 브라이도티는 존재론적 전회(轉回)가 일어나는 신체를 들뢰즈의 기관 없는 몸과 연결하여, 지각이 불가능해짐으로써 열리는 내재(내면)성의 장을 제시한다. 무의식과 닿아 있는 내재성의 장은 이성으로는 파악할 수 없는 영역이자, 인간의 기계-되기, 동물-되기와 같이 그 무엇이든 되기가 가능한 장소이다. 브라이도티는 이 지대에서 생동하는 힘을 조에(Zeo)로 코드화하여 현실의 공(권력)적 장에서 배제된 생명(여성, 아이, 기계, 동식물 등)에 활력을 부여하고, 근대적 인간-이후의 세계를 모색한다. 자아가 사라지는 것처럼, 경계 넘기는 포스트휴먼을 사유하는 수사적 방법으로서, 이원의 시에서는 의식이 균열되는 순간 출현하는 기계-사이보그 신체와 지구 행성적 신체의 이미지로 변형되어 드러나고 있었다. 2000년부터 2010년에 이르기까지 이원 시에서 주로 발견되는 것은 사이보그-몸 이미지이다. 현실과 가상(꿈)의 경계에 선 자아는 기계적 시스템에 접속하여 가상세계로 이동해간다. 이 순간 시는 자아와 타자의 식별이 불가능한 어떤 공백을 만들어낸다. 이 여백에 출현하는 기계-몸은 이상적 인간상과 거리가 멀다. 자연 / 문화를 구분하여 유기체적 자연과 여성을 동일시해온 여성주의 계보에도 소속되지 않고, 기술로 강화된 인간(Transhuman)상을 지향하지도 않는다. 흐릿한 ‘달’과 같이 여성적 표지와 동시에 환기되는 기계-몸은 네트워크 시스템을 교란하는 기형적 사이보그이자, 인간-자본의 권력적 지배에 대항하는 새로운 유형의 인간-여성적 존재로서, 동일자적 주체의 이항대립적 논리를 내파(內波)하려는 움직임을 보인다. 기계-인간의 이질적 목소리는 불협화음을 생성함으로써 단일화의 의미 논리를 흔들고, 동일성의 논리로 코드화된 생산의 회로를 뚫고 나갈 출구 찾기와 관련된다. 그러나 가상세계와 연결된 사이보그-몸은 자칫 가상의 지배적 힘에 삼켜질 우려가 있고, 실재하는 생명 조에(동식물, 아이, 여성 등)와의 관계를 모색하는 데는 일정한 한계가 있다. 2010년 이후 최근에 이르는 시에서 발견되는 것은 지구 행성의 이미지다. 시의 지구는 자본의 매체가 점령한 공간이며, 이때 경험되는 고독과 죽음은 의식의 공백을 발생시킨다. 이 여백은 주체의 사라짐과 동시에, 인간 아닌 것(他者)들이 출현하는 지점으로서, 허공이나 지구(여성)의 둥근 이미지와 맞물려 환기된다. 여기에 출현하는 타자는 인간의 기획에 의해 상품화되고 버려지는 동식물, 보철물 등이며, 시의 언어는 이러한 존재의 (목)소리들이 얽히고 교차하면서 만들어내는 다중적 언술로 구성된다. 이 과정에서 타자로서의 자아와 인간 아닌 것 사이의 감정적 연대가 강조되고, 종적 위계를 횡단하여 새롭게 생성되는 여성적 존재 양식이 부각된다. 이러한 시적 발화는 전 지구적 자본 / 공동체의 지배적 흐름을 끊어내기 위한 일종의 전략으로써, 지구행성에 살아가는 인간-인간 아닌 것들의 연대와 생명 윤리를 동시에 재고하게 한다. 이원 시의 사이보그-되기, 지구-되기의 상상력은 인간의 이항대립적 논리를 근본적으로 회의하면서 새로운 생명 조에의 윤리적 가능성을 탐색하고 있다는 점에서 의미 있다.

영문 초록

The current study analyzed the modification of human bodies in the poetry of Yi Won from the posthuman-feminine perspective. For that purpose, the discussions of Rosi Braidotti were adopted. Bridotti explored the posthuman-feminine potentials based on anti-humanism and the core was vital materialism. Vital materialism is a concept that discusses the form of existence that changes through the internalization of nature and culture and the changes are related to the bodies. Braidotti connects the bodies that undergo existential revolution to Deleuze’s bodies with no organs to suggest internalization (immanence) that opens when perception is disabled. Immanence that is related to the subconscious level is a realm not identified by reason and where anything is possible, e.g., humans becoming machines or animals. Braidotti converts the power that is alive in this realm into a code called Zeo to give vitality to the lives that are excluded from the public (authoritative) sector of the reality (women, children, machines, animals, plants, etc.) and explore the world after the modern humans. As the ego disappears, a rhetorical method to contemplate post-humans beyond the boundaries is applied. In the poetry of Yi Won, the images are modified into the machine-cyborg bodies and geo-planetary bodies that emerge at the moment when awareness cracks. From 2000 through 2010, the images of cyborg bodies were mostly found in Yi’s poetry. The ego standing in the gray area between reality and virtuality (dreams) connects to the mechanical systems and travels to the virtual world. At that moment, the poetry creates a certain blank space where an ego cannot be distinguished from others. The mechanical bodies that appear in the blank space are far from the ideal humans. They do not belong to the feminist group that has separated nature from culture and identified women with the organic nature and they do not pursue transhuman augmented by technology. The mechanical bodies that are reminded by a feminist cover, such as the faint ‘Moon’ is a deformed cyborg that confuses the network systems and a new form of human-feminine being that resist the dominating powers of humans and capital. They tend to create an internal wave of binary opposition as the same. The heterogeneous voices of machines and humans engender disharmony to agitate the semantic logic of unification and relate to finding an exit through the circuit of production coded by the logic of uniformity. However, the cyborg bodies connected to the virtual world can easily be swallowed by the dominating power of virtuality and has certain limitations when exploring their relations with the actual Zoe of life (animals, plants, children, women, etc.). What is found in the poems that have been released since 2010 are the geo-planetary images. The Earth in the poems is conquered by the capital media and the solitude and death experienced then generate the blank of awareness. The blank is where the ego disappears, and the non-human beings emerge and connected to the round images of void or Earth (women). Here, others are animals, plants, and braces that are merchandised and discarded by human needs and the poetic language is composed of a multitude of speeches created when the voices of existences intertwine and cross. In that process, the emotional solidarity between the ego as another and the non-human being is emphasized, and the feminine existence newly created across the lateral hierarchy is stressed. The poetic utterance is a strategy to break the dominating flow of capital and communities around the globe and contemplates the solidarity and life ethics of humans and non-human beings on Earth. The imagination of becoming a cyborg or Earth behind the poetry of Yi Won is significant as it essentially discusses the logic of binary opposition of humans and explores the ethical possibility of Zoe of new life.
