일반교육에서 영재 교육과정 모형의 적용 가능성 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 영재 교육과정의 주요 모형 및 특징을 중심으로 일반교육에 적용 가능한지와 그한계점을 탐색해 보았다. 일반교육에 적용 가능성과 관련해서는 학교 전체 심화학습 모형(SEM)의 경우, 역량 기반 교육과정 운영에 적용할 수 있다는 점, 학생 특성에 맞게 일반학생에게도 1, 2, 3 단계를 각각 적용해 볼 수 있다는 점을 제시하였고, 통합 교육과정 모형(ICM)의 경우, 주제 중심의 통합 단원 개발에 참고할 수 있다는 점, 고차원적 사고기능 계발을 위한 교육과정 개발에 활용할수 있다는 점을 제안하였다. 병행 교육과정(PCM)의 경우, 교육과정 개발이나 운영에 활용할 수 있는 다양한 요소들을 제시하고 있는 만큼 교사가 다양한 방식으로 재구성하여 활용할 수 있다는 점과 정체성 병행 교육과정은 진로지도에 활용할 수 있음을 제안하였다. 영재 교육과정에서는 결국 학생의 관심 및 흥미에 기초하여, 주요 개념 및 원리와 연결지어 고등정신기능을 습득하고, 특정 주제와 관련된 산출물을 실제 세계에서 생산하는 것을 강조한다. 이러한 부분은 일반교육 현장에도 확산되어야 하나, 법적인 규제, 입시, 행·재정적 지원의 부족, 인적·물적 자원의 부족 등의 한계성이 확산의 저해요소로 작용한다. 일반교육 현장의 이러한 한계성을 인식하고 이를 제거해 나가면서 영재교육의 다양한 현장 경험과 지혜가 일반교육으로 확산되기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

In this study, we focused on the main models and characteristics of the gifted and talented curriculum, and explored their applicability to general education and its limitations. Regarding its applicability to general education, the following suggests: in the case of the SEM, the operation of a competency-based curriculum can apply, and according to the characteristics of the general student steps 1, 2, and 3 can apply. In the case of the ICM, it has uses to develop a curriculum that can create an integrated thematic unit increase high-level thinking skills. In the case of the PCM, it presents various elements that have uses in the development or operation of the curriculum; teachers can restructure and utilize it in a variety of ways, and the identity-parallel-curriculum has use in career guidance. The gifted and talented curriculum emphasize that students acquire higher mental skills in connection with key-concepts and principles, and produce output related to a particular topic in the real world based on their interests. This should also be spread to general education; however, limitations such as legal regulations, entrance examinations, lack of administrative and financial support, and lack of human and material resources act as inhibitions to the spread. We hope that the various experiences and wisdom of gifted and talented education will be spread to general education, eliminating the limitations of the general education field.
