국문 초록

인간 본성의 이기성과 이타성을 둘러싼 논의는 윤리적 주제의 오래된 쟁점이었는데, 리처드 도킨스의 〈이기적 유전자〉 출판 이후 그 논쟁은 더욱 확장되는 분위기이다. 본 논문은 포스트휴먼 상황 속에서 다루어지고 있는 ‘인간이란 무엇인가’를 둘러싼 최근 학제간 논의와 관련이 있지만, 신학의 역사에서 존재했던 이타성의 계보학에 초점을 맞춘다는 점에서 차이가 있다. 본고는 자연과학이 이룩한 성취에 대한 지식의 나열과 그에 대한 신학적 판단을 추구하지 않는다. 신학 외부에서 이루어지고 있는 이타성에 대한 비평을 도모하기보다는 근대에서 현대에 이르기까지 신학 내부에서 진행되어 왔던 이타성 추구의 여정을 따라간다. 그 논의 위에서 기독교윤리 차원에서 포스트휴먼 시대 이타성 윤리를 조망하고 비평하는 것이 논문의 최종 목표가 될 것이다. 이러한 취지 하에 본고는 다음과 같은 구성을 지닌다. Ⅱ장은 ‘이타성의 논의가 등장하기까지’라는 제목으로 근대 이후 현대에 이르기까지 신학의 흐름을 타자의 발견술이라는 관점에서 조망한다. Ⅲ장에서는 문제를 좁혀서 20세기 신학의 해석학적 전회를 다루는데, 이타성을 추구하는 경향으로 나가는 신학 내부의 움직임을 심도 있게 다룰 것이다. 인간의 경험과 고통이 신학적 해석학의 요소로 새롭게 들어왔음을 밝히고, 세속화신학이 어떻게 이후 전개되는 신학 운동에 영향을 미쳤는지 다룬다. Ⅳ장은 포스트휴먼 시대의 믿음이라는 제목 아래 포스트휴머니즘 논의의 이론적 잣대와 포스트휴먼 시대의 타자를 향한 열린 믿음에 대한 내용을 다룬다. Ⅴ장에서는 포스트휴먼 시대 윤리적 문제의식과 기독교윤리가 서 있어야 할 자리를 모색하는 시간을 마련한다. 결론에 가서 포스트휴먼 시대를 맞아 타자성에 대한 제고와 이타성이 화두로 떠오르는 현실에서 신학과 기독교윤리가 견지해야 할 입장을 최종적으로 제안할 것이다.

영문 초록

The discussion of selfishness and alterity in human nature is an old issue in ethics, and since Richard Dawkins’ publication of The Selfish Genes, the debate has expanded further. This paper is related to the recent interdisciplinary discussion concerning ‘what is human’ in the posthuman context, but differs in that it focuses on the genealogy of altruism that existed in the history of theology. This paper does not list the achievements of natural science or cast theological judgment on it. Rather than seeking to criticize altruism outside theology, this paper examines altruism as discussed inside theology from modern to modern times. On top of this, it will be the final goal of the thesis to view and criticize altruistic ethics in the post-human era in terms of Christian ethics. For this purpose, this paper has the following composition. Chapter II views the flow of theology from the modern era to the present day from the perspective of the discovery of others under the title of “Until the Discussion of altruism emerges.” Chapter III narrows the problem and deals with the hermeneutical transmission of 20th-century theology. It will look in depth at the movement within theology that tends to pursue altruism and will reveal that human experience and suffering have just recently become considerations of theological hermeneutics. This chapter deals with how secularized theology has influenced the theological movement that developed later. Chapter IV deals with the theoretical standards of posthumanism discussions and open beliefs toward others in the posthuman era under the title of “Belief in the Posthuman Era.” Chapter V provides time to find a place for ethical problem consciousness and Christian ethics in the posthuman era. In the post-human era, we will finally propose a position that theology and Christian ethics should maintain.
