국문 초록

본 논문의 목적은 리처드 커니의 재신론 개념을 가지고 성만찬 참여의 의미를 재고하는 데 있다. 필자는 먼저 재신론을 가능성, 시적 상상 그리고 내기의 개념으로 소개한다. 가능성의 신은 형이상학이 신을 존재에서 존재자로 제한한 것을 상상과 해석을 통해서 무한한 신성으로 다시 사유하는 것이다. 신을 제한 없이 사유하기 위해서 상상력은 중요하다. 상상력은 인간이 신을 사유할 수 있는 가장 유용한 방법으로 신은 논리가 아닌 상상으로 이해할 수 있다. 신을 가능성으로 사유하기 위해서는 내기가 필요하다. 내기는 갑자기 출현한 그 무엇이 신인지 악마인지를 구분해서 나의 사유 안으로 초대할 것인가, 배척할 것인가를 결정하는 것이다. 내기는 불가능성에서 가능성을 발견하는 구체적인 믿음의 행위로 인간은 종말론적 가능성에서 희망을 발견할 수 있다. 성만찬을 재신론의 관점으로 재구성할 때, 예수의 가능성은 성만찬의 떡과 포도주에서 그리스도의 살과 피를 볼 수 있게 만든다. 성만찬에서 그리스도가 현시할 수 있는 것은 예수의 초월성이 참여자에게 떡과 포도주를 구체적 가능성으로 경험하게 만들기 때문이다. 하지만 이 체험은 모든 사람에게 허락되지 않는다. 가능성을 경험하기 위해서는 떡과 포도주에 자신의 사유와 몸에 내기해야 한다. 이 내기는 끝이 없는 종말론적 내기로 재신론적 성만찬은 그리스도의 임재와 재림을 계속해서 내기해야 하는 존재자의 존재 현장이다. 재신론적 성만찬은 어떻게 떡과 포도주가 그리스도의 살과 피가 될 수 있는지를 예수의 가능성으로 재구성하는 것이다. 이 연구가 기독교 성만찬에 의미하는 것은 1) 성만찬의 떡과 포도주의 의미를 다양하게 생각하게 생각해서 2) 성만찬 참여의 의미와 참여를 독려하기 위함이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to reconsider the meaning of Christian Eucharistic theology with Richard Kearney’s concept of anatheism. In order to do that, the author first examines what the God of Possibility is through the concepts of poetic imagination, hermeneutics, and wager. Imagination is a key to imagine God without limits. God is not the result of facts, but the text and interpretation of facts. The source of thought that makes thought possible is God, and humans can think through God. To think of God as a possibility requires a wager. The wager is to decide whether to invite or reject something that has suddenly appeared in thoughts by distinguishing whether it is a god or a demon. The wager is the hope to find possibility in the impossible, and humans can find hope in the eschatological possibility of God. Therefore, human beings are not impossible beings, but possible beings. When reconstructing the Eucharist from an anatheistic perspective, the possibility of Christ makes the bread and wine of the Eucharist visible from matter to flesh and blood. The Eucharist can be Christ because the possibility is manifested in the concrete possibility of bread and wine. Moreover, the participant can experience the possibilities of the impossible in the Eucharist. However, this experience is not for everyone. One must stake one’s thoughts and body on bread and wine to be a possibility. This wager is an endless eschatological bet, and the anatheistic Eucharist is the site of the existence of beings who must continue to bet on the presence and return of Jesus. The anatheistic Eucharist reconstructs how the bread and wine could be his flesh and blood as the possibility of Jesus. The implications of this study for the Christian Eucharist are: 1) to think about the meaning of the bread and wine of the Eucharist in various ways, and 2) to encourage the meaning and participation of the Eucharist.
