국문 초록

본 논문은 (구)대구선 철도가 건설, 이설, 폐지되는 과정을 조사하고, 그 과정에서 나타나는 물질적 및 공간적 아이러니를 밝히는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 두 번째 절에서는 존 어리(John Urry)가 제시한 모빌리티 시스템으로서의 철도 시스템의 특징을 주로 연결 시스템과 파노라마 경관의 측면에서 설명한다. 세 번째 절에서는 대구선의 건설과 이설의 역사적 과정에 대해서 고찰해 보고, 그 과정에서 나타나는 몇몇 공간적 함의를 제시한다. 네 번 째 절에서는 (구)대구선에서 대구선공원으로의 공간적 조정을 철도(연결) 시스템 공간에서 보행(연속) 시스템 공간으로의 변화, 그리고 파노라마 조망에서 발코니 조망으로의 변화라는 측면에서 설명한다. 특히, 본 논문은 대구선공원이라는 새로운 보행 시스템 공간이 (구)대구선이라는 철도 시스템 공간의 요소에 의존하면서 구성되어 있음을 주장한다. 즉, 장소들을 연결하던 철도 시스템의 기계적 요소는 보행 시스템의 장소 정체성을 구성하는 물질적이고 상징적인 요소로 변형되었다.

영문 초록

This article aims to investigate the construction, relocation and abolition of the old Daegu Line, and to reveal material and spatial ironies which have appeared in the process. For this, the second section explains a rail-system in terms of nexus system and panoramic landscape which John Urry suggests as the characteristics of the rail-system which is a kind of mobility system. The third section reviews the historical process of construction and relocation of the Daegu Line, and suggests its spatial implications. The fourth section explains a spatial fix from the old Daegu Line to Daegu Line Park in terms of changes from rail (nexus) to pedestrian (series) system, and from panoramic to balcony view. Significantly, the article argues that while being dependent on the elements of the rail-system space of the old Daegu Line, the new pedestrian system space of Daegu Line Park is constructed. That is, the mechanical elements of the rail-system which had connected places were transformed into material and symbolic elements constructing the identity of place in the pedestrian spaces.
