만해 한용운의 평화사상과 한반도 통일

국문 초록

본 논문은 만해 한용운의 평화사상과 평화사상이 한반도 통일에 주는 의미와 교훈을 규명하고 있다. 만해의 평화사상을 논의하기 위해 우선 그의 세계관을 문명관 및 국제관을 중심으로 다루어 보았다. 그의세계관을 면밀히 살펴보면 그는 누구보다도 문명과 역사의 진보를 인식하고 있었음을 알 수 있다. 이를 토대로 해서 그는 자신의 평화사상을전개하고 있다. 필자는 만해의 평화사상을 세 가지로 분류해서 설명하였다. 첫째, 그의 평화사상은 민족자결을 기초한 평화론으로 지적할 수있다. 민족자결론에 의한 그의 평화론은 오늘날에도 매우 필요한 논리이다. 왜냐하면 민족국가의 건전한 구축이 없이는 결코 세계질서는 평화로의 진전을 이룰 수 없기 때문이다. 다음으로 그의 평화론은 자유를기초한 평화론으로 규정될 수 있다. 자유가 상실된 평화는 현실에서 의미를 찾기 어렵다. 이런 점에서 자유는 평화의 전제이자 기초조건이라고 할 수 있다. 마지막으로 그의 평화사상은 평등을 지향하는 평화론으로 정리할 수 있다. 평등은 평화의 정신이라는 만해의 언급은 매우 합리적인 평화론이라고 아니할 수 없다. 이러한 만해의 평화사상은 오늘날 세계질서의 냉전지역으로 유일하게 남아있는 한반도 통일문제를 푸는 황금열쇠로서의 의미와 교훈을 제공해주고 있다고 믿는다.

영문 초록

This thesis is the study on the peaceful thought of Manhae, Han Yong Woon. Furthermore, it is treated the effect of the Manhae's peaceful thought on the unification of the Korean Peninsula. I analyzed his view of civilization and international order for sake of his peaceful thoughts. Now, looking into his view of the world, he realized the progress of history and civilization. Based on this view of the world, Manhae is deployed in his peaceful thought. I analysed the peaceful thought of Manhae as follows; First, Manhae's peaceful thought stays the peaceful theory based self-determination of peoples. The his peaceful theory based self-determination of peoples is now a necessary theory. Secondly, his peaceful theory is based on freedom. Actually, the peace losing freedom is not in the reality. In this sense, Freedom is a precondituion and foundation of peace. Finally, his peaceful thought is rendered with the peaceful theory oriented a equality. Manhae told that a eqality is a spirit of peace. It is a rational recognization. This peaceful thought of Manhae is the meaning and lesson of a golden key settling the unification problem in the Korean peninsular.
