晉州本 『艮齋集』 간행과 門人의 갈등

국문 초록

현재 『간재집』은 3종이 영인 출판되어 있는데, 문집의 권수는 진주본이 총 59권, 화도본이 총 60권, 신도본이 총 52권이다. 글의 종류는 편지가 가장 많으니, 진주본과 화도본이 전체의 77%, 신도본은 전체의 76%이다. 전반적으로 글의 종류별 작품 수는 화도본과 신도본이 크게 다르지 않다. 다만 화도본의 총 작품 수는 신도본의 5,368편보다 75편 많은 5,443편이다. 이는 화도본이 수록한 書·雜著의 작품 수가 신도본보다 많기 때문이다. 또 이로 인해 화도본의 총 작품 수는 5,443편으로 진주본보다 178편 많아졌다. 그러나 전체적인 구성과 작품의 수는 화도본과 신도본이 近似하다. 진주본 『간재집』 간행을 둘러싼 문인 간의 갈등은 간재의 애매한 유언이 일 원인을 제공한 측면이 있으니, 간재는 대부분 편지로 채워진 문집을 간행하여 후세에 전할 만한 가치가 있을지 자신할 수 없었다. 또 논쟁 등이 다수 포함된 글이 公刊될 때 世人의 비난을 야기할 수 있고, 자신이 확정하지 않은 글을 제자와 자손들이 이해관계에 따라 무단히 넣을 수 있다는 점을 우려했다. 그것에 더하여 ‘문집을 간행할 가치가 없으므로 단지 후손들이 보관만 하면 될 일이다.’라고 유명하는 전통도 문인들에게 혼란을 주었다. 그러나 간재 문인들의 분열과 갈등은 『간재집』 간행이 촉발하였을 뿐 그것이 유일한 원인은 아니다. 오진영을 비판한 김택술 등은 진주본의 왜곡을 밝히는 데 실패하였다. 그들은 오진영이 간재의 의리를 배반하였다고 성토하는 데 주력하였다. 이는 김택술 등이 오진영과 이념적 지향을 달리한 것에 기인한다. 『간재집』의 문헌학적 고찰은 善本을 만들기 위한 작업이다. 선본을 만들기 위해서는 왜곡된 부분을 복원하는 것이 중요하다. 그 다음은 이본 간의 비교를 통한 오류의 수정이 이루어져야 한다. 다만, 간재가 직접 확정하지 않았던 글을 굳이 문집에 편입시킬 필요가 있는지 숙고할 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

Currently, three types of 『Ganjaejip』 have been published, with a total of 59 volumes of Jinju version, and 60 volumes of Hwado version, and 52 volumes of Sindo version. As for the type of writing, there are the most letters, so Jinju version and Hwado version are 77% of the total, and Sindo version is 76% of the total. Overall, the number of works by type of writing is not very different from that of the Hwado version and Sindo version. However, the total number of works in Hwado version is 5,443 works, 75 more than 5,368 in Sindo version. This is because the number of prose, poems and miscellaneous writings contained in Hwado version is larger than that of Sindo version. In addition, as a result, the total number of works of Hwado version is 5,443, which is 178 more than the Jinju version. However, the overall composition and number of works are similar to those of the Hwado version and Shindo version. The conflict between disciples over the publication of Jinju version 『Ganjaejip』 had an aspect that the ambiguous will of Ganjae provided one cause. He wasn’t sure if a collection of works, which was mostly filled with letters, was published and worthy of passing on to posterity. Also, when articles containing controversies were published in public, it could cause criticism from people, and he was concerned that his disciples and descendants could unauthorizedly include articles that he had not confirmed according to their interests. In addition, a tradition of asking for the last word in his life as “It is not worth publishing a collection of writings, so it is only necessary for descendants to keep it.” also confused disciples. However, the division and conflict of the Ganjae disciples were triggered by the publication of 『Ganjaejip』 and that was not the only cause. Kim Taek-sul and others, who criticized Oh Jin-young, failed to reveal the distortion of Jinju version. They focused on accusing Oh Jin-young of betraying the loyalty of Ganjae. This is due to the fact that Kim Taek-sul and others had different ideological orientations from Oh Jin-young. The philological consideration of 『Ganjaejip』 is a work to make the Best Version. In order to make the Best Version, it is important to restore the distorted parts. After that, errors should be corrected through comparison between the Different Versions. However, it is necessary to consider whether it is necessary to incorporate texts that Ganjae had not directly confirmed into the collection of works.
