노인의 인지기능과 신체적 건강요인의 관계

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 노년기의 신체적 건강요인과 인지기능의 관계를 파악하여 노인 인지기능 강화를 위한 방안을 모색하는것이다. 이에 만성질환 수, 시청력 및 씹기의 불편함, 동작수행 어려움, 영양관리 및 주관적 건강상태를 중심으로 신체적 건강요인과인지기능의 관계를 분석하였다. 이를 위해 2020년도 노인실태조사 데이터를 활용하여 전국의 65세 이상 노인 10,097명을 대상으로위계적 회귀분석을 진행하였다. 연구결과, 남자가 여자보다 인지기능, 교육연수, 주관적 건강상태, 영양관리의 수준이 높았다. 도시거주자가 시골 거주자보다 인지기능, 교육연수, 주관적 건강상태, 영양관리의 수준이 높게 나타났다. 교육수준이 높은 집단일수록 주관적건강상태가 높았으며, 시청력⋅씹기의 어려움과 동작수행 어려움은 낮게 나타났다. 신체적 건강요인 중 동작수행 어려움, 만성질환수, 주관적 건강상태, 시청력⋅씹기의 어려움은 노인의 인지기능에 통계적으로 유의한 영향이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 반면 영양관리는유의한 영향이 나타나지 않았다. 이와 같은 연구결과를 바탕으로 노인의 인지기능 강화를 위한 전략을 제시하였다. 노인의 건강형평성강화의 방향에서 시골 지역에 인지기능 강화와 건강관리 지원을 위한 인프라와 서비스 전달 인력을 확보해야 하며, 신체적 건강을증진시키기 위한 운동 프로그램의 제공, 시청력 및 씹기의 어려움 해소를 위한 보조기구의 지원 등의 방안을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this research was to find a way to strengthen the cognitive function of the elderly by understanding the relationship between physical health factors and cognitive function in old age. The relationship between physical health factors and cognitive function was analyzed focusing on the number of chronic diseases, the difficulties of eyesight, hearing and chewing, difficulty in movement, nutritional management, and subjective health status. This research conducted a hierarchical regression analysis targeting 10,097 people aged 65 years or older Korean nationwide by using the data from the survey on the status of the elderly in 2020. As a result, males was higher than females in the level of cognitive function, educational training, subjective health status, and nutritional management. The group with a high level of education was the higher in health status and the lower in difficulties of eyesight, hearing and chewing, and movement. Among physical health factors, difficulty in movement, number of chronic diseases, subjective health status, difficulties of eyesight, hearing and chewing were found to have a statistically significant effect on cognitive function in the elderly. On the other hand, nutritional management did not show a significant effect. Strategies to strengthen the cognitive function of the elderly were suggested based on these results. In the direction of strengthening the health equity of the elderly, it is necessary to secure infrastructure and service delivery personnel to strengthen cognitive function and support health care in rural areas. It was proposed to provide an exercise program to improve physical health, and to support assistive devices for relieving the difficulties of eyesight, hearing and chewing.
