해방기 시 동인지 『죽순』의 위상과 『전선시첩』으로의 이동

국문 초록

『죽순』은 1946년 창간되어 해방 4년 동안 12집이나 발간되었으며, 1979년 봄 복간호를 낸 이후에도 현재까지 발행을 계속하고 있는 대구 지역의 대표적 시 동인지이다. 『죽순』은 중앙과 대타적인 지점에서 지역 문학의 성과를 보여주었으며, 해방기 대구지역의 시문학에 대한 열망을 제대로 수용해 나간 매체였다. 본고에서는 해방기에 발간된 『죽순』을 대상으로 죽순시인구락부와 『죽순』지의 탄생과정, 시 동인지로서 『죽순』이 서 있는 자리와 매체적 전략, 『죽순』 이후 동인들이 전선문단으로 이동해 가는 과정 등을 살펴보았다. 먼저 『죽순』은 이윤수, 이호우, 박목월 등 대구지역 시인들 외에 유치환, 김춘수, 조지훈, 박두진, 설창수, 조향 등 대구 바깥의 유명 시인들도 참가시켜 필진의 위상을 높였다. 『죽순』은 출발부터 좌익 진영과 거리를 두고 출발하였는데, 『죽순』에 수록된 시나 시론을 통해 『죽순』이 크게 순수시나 ‘민족시’의 큰 자장 안에 머무르고 있었음을 확인할 수 있었다. 그러나 『죽순』의 경우 순수시를 지향한다는 것 외에 동인들을 묶어줄 뚜렷한 이념이나 모토를 제시하지는 못하였다. 이러한 것이 제한된 필진을 넘어 외부 필진의 자유로운 참여를 보장하게 하는 기능을 하기도 했지만 매체의 정체성을 드러내는 데는 한계를 보여주었다. 이러한 지역 매체가 가진 한계를 극복하기 위해 『죽순』은 다양한 기획과 편집전략을 구사하였다. 매체전략으로는 첫째, 신인추천제를 실시하여 김요섭, 최계락, 천상병, 윤운강 등의 시인을 등단시켰고, 둘째, 일반 문학지망생과 학생들이 작품을 발표할 수 있는 일반시단과 학생시단란을 설치했으며, 셋째, 지역문인의 표상화 작업을 시도하여 이상화 시비 건립과 상화시비 특집호를 발간했으며, 넷째, 시조에 대한 관심과 시조 발표 지면을 지속적으로 유지시켰다는 점을 들 수 있다. 한편 한국전쟁기로 접어들면서 『죽순』 동인들은 전선매체로 이동해 가는데, 특히 문총구국대 경북지대의 이름으로 나온 『전선시첩』 2집은 『죽순』의 전시판 매체라 할 수 있었다. 죽순시인구락부의 대표였던 이윤수가 『전선시첩』 2집의 발간 주체로 원고 수합, 편집, ｢후기｣까지 관여한 것은 그러한 사실을 증빙해 준다. 『전선시첩』에 실린 시들은 순수시를 지향했던 시인들이 국가가 위기에 처했을 때 어떻게 전선시로 이동해 가는지를 보여주고 있다는 점에서 주목된다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to examine the birth and its media characteristics of Jook-soon(Bamboo shoot), a poetic media in Daegu region. Until now, research on Jook-soon has often been limited to criticism of the impression of the work or a general introduction to the Jook-soon participant. This is related to the fact that most of the discussions are centered on the pride and retrospective of the participating writers of Jook-soon. As a result, the full appearance and characteristics of Jook-soon during the Liberation Period have not been properly identified. To solve these problem, this study attempted to pay attention to the human resources, Jook-soon participant and Jook-soon as a poetic medium, a physical representation they created. Jook-soon showed the achievements of local literature against the central literature. This was a medium that accepted the desire for poetry literature in Daegu region during the Liberation Period. Jook-soon started with a distance from the socialist camp at the beginning of departure. Through the poets and poems in Jook-soon, I could be sure that Jook-soon largely stayed in the big influence of pure poetry or national poetry. Meanwhile, Jook-soon used various planning and editing strategies to overcome the limitations of local media. The media strategy is as follows. First, a budding writer recommendation system was implemented to take the platform poets such as Kim Yo-seop, Choi Gye-rak, Cheon Sang-byeong, and Yoon Un-gang. Second, general poetry sections and student poetry sections were installed so that adults and students aspiring literature could present their works. Third, they attempted to represent local writers. one is to build Lee Sang-hwa’s literature monument, the other is to make Lee Sang-hwa special media. Fourth, they continuously secured space for presentation of modern Sijo in the media. Finally, this study dealt with Geonseon-sichup(A collection of poems about war) issued during the Korean War as edition of media about war of Jook-soon. In particular, Jeonseon-sichup shows how poets who participated in Jook-soon move to the war literary group.
