<대악후보> 소재 <자하동1(紫霞洞一)>에 대한 음악적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 󰡔대악후보󰡕에 전하는 고려 향악곡 <자하동1>의 가사와 악구, 선율, 형식 등에 대한 음악적 특징을 <진작1>과의 비교를 통해 세밀하게 밝혀내는 것이었다. <고려사> ｢악지｣에 기록된 <자하동>의 가사는 ‘원(願)’으로 시작하는 구를 기준으로 4개의 절로 구분이 가능했다. 한 편, <고려사>에 기록된 <자하동> 가사 중에는 반복 가창에 의해 생략된 가사가 있을 수 있기 때문에 <대악후보< <자하 동1>은 <고려사> ｢악지｣ <자하동>의 가사 한 절에 해당하는 악곡일 것이라는 의견을 제시하였다. <대악후보> <자하동 1>의 악구는 <진작1>의 악구 형태를 참고로 하여 모두 10개로 나눌 수 있었다. <자하동1>의 10개 악구는 대여음 선율을 기준으로 전반부 제1~5악구, 후반부 제6~10악구의 두 부분으로 다시 나눌 수 있었다. <자하동1> 각 악구의 선율을 <진작1>의 선율과 비교해본 결과 <자하동1>의 선율은 <진작1>의 선율을 악구별로 확대, 축소하거나 부분적으로 4도 관계로 변주하는 방법으로 만들어져 있음을 알 수 있었다. <자하동1>과 <진작1>은 하나의 악곡이 크게 세 부분으로 나뉘는 점에 있어서는 공통되었으나, <자하동1> 선율의 형성 과정에서 <진작1>의 ‘강류’ 선율은 확대되었고, ‘엽류’ 선율은 축소된 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 결국, 본 연구를 통해 <자하동1>의 선율은 <진작1>의 선율과 깊은 관련을 갖고 만들어진 것임이 밝혀졌다. 따라서 <자하동>은 <진작> 선율이 고려 향악곡의 형성에 중요한 영향을 미쳤음을 알 수 있게 하는 곡인 동시에, 조선 향악곡 <횡살문>의 형성에 직접적인 영향을 미친 곡으로서 고려에서 조선으로 이어지는 향악의 흐름에서 중요한 위치를 차지하는 악곡이라 할 수 있겠다.

영문 초록

This study aims to examine the musical characteristics in details, including lyrics, phrase, melody, and form, of “Jahadong1” (紫霞洞一), the piece of Goryeo hyang’ak (Korean music in Goryo Dynasty), contained in Daeakhubo, through the comparison with “Jinjak 1”. The lyrics of “Jahadong” recorded in Goryeosa-Akji can be divided into four verses based on the phrase starting with won (願). This study suggests that because the lyrics of “Jahadong” in Goryeosa may be omitted due to the repetition of singing, “Jahadong1” from Daeakhubo may be a piece of music corresponding to one verse of Jahadong from Goryeosa. The phrase of “Jahadong1” from Daeakhubo can be divided into 10 in total, referring to the phrase form of “Jinjak1”. The 10 phrases of “Jahadong1” can be divided into two parts—the 1st to 5th phrase in the first half and the 6th to 10th phrase in the second half—based on the melody of daeyeoum (大餘音, instrumental prelude or postlude). As a result of comparing the melody of each phrase of “Jahadong1” with that of “Jinjak 1”, it shows that the melody of “Jahadong 1” was created by expanding or reducing or partially in a 4-degree relationship changing the melody of “Jinjak1” by phrase. “Jahadong1” and “Jinjak1” are common in that they are divided into three parts, but it is confirmed that the melody of gangnyu’ (腔類, the main parts of the Goryeo hyangak piece) of “Jinjak1” was expanded while that of yeopnyu’ (葉類, the incidental parts of the Goryeo hyangak piece) of “Jinjak1” was reduced in the process of forming the melody of “Jahadong 1”. This study reveals that the melody of “Jahadong 1” was made in a close relation with that of “Jinjak1”. Therefore, “Jahadong” is a piece that shows that the melody of “Jinjak” had an important influence on the formation of the Goryeo hyangak piece as well as a direct influence on the Joseon hyangak piece “Hoengsalmun”. Jahadong can be said to occupy an important position in the flow of hyangak from Goryeo to Joseon.
