국문 초록

본 논문은 일제강점기 조선으로 진출한 일본인들의 요업활동에서 나타나는 식민성을 각종 도자제작, 도자전시, 문화, 교육 등을 바탕으로 고찰하여, 이 시기 요업 전반에 표출되는 현상들을 파악하는데 중 점을 두었다. 각계각층의 일본인 구성원들이 참여한 요업은 제각각 목적과 취지가 차별되기도 했지만, 일반적으로 식민지 조선에서 이권사업으로 참여한 바가 컸다. 이 과정에서 조선총독부와 그 산하기관 들의 비호와 협력을 받으며 강점 전반에 걸쳐 비약적인 발전을 거듭하였다. 제국 일본의 도자정책과 권업정책은 이 시기 요업에 많은 연구개발과 투자를 유도하여, 적지 않은 일본인들이 조선으로 이주하 고 요업에 참여할 수 있는 발판을 마련한 것이다. 재조일본인들이 주력했던 요업 분야는 근대화의 상 징적 전유물인 산업자기, 내화물, 시멘트 등을 생산하는데 초점 맞춰졌으나, 한국 고유의 전통도자를 재현하고 이를 변용하는 새로운 도예 장르를 개척하기도 하였다. 그러나 일본인들의 참여가 고취됨과 동시에 조선 요업의 쇠락현상이 가속되고 전승된 도자의 정체성 혼란이 야기되었다. 따라서 일제강점 기의 요업활동에서 일본인들의 역할과 위상은 조선 요업의 식민지적 편파성과 불균형을 초래하면서 형성된 대표적인 사례로 볼 수 있다.

영문 초록

This paper examines the coloniality of the ceramics activities of the Japanese who advanced to Joseon during the Japanese colonial period based on various ceramic productions, ceramic exhibitions, culture, education, etc., and focused on grasping the phenomena expressed throughout the ceramic industry during this period. In the ceramic industry that Japanese members of all walks of life participated in, the purpose and purpose of ceramics were different from each other, but in general, they participated in the colonial Joseon as an interest project. In this process, the government-general of Joseon and its affiliates received the protection and cooperation and made a leap forward in overall strengths. Imperial Japan s pottery policy and martial arts policy induces a lot of research and development and investment in ceramics during this period, and laid a foothold for a large number of Japanese to migrate to Joseon and participate in ceramics. The field of ceramics, which the Japanese were focused on, was focused on producing industrial ceramics, refractory materials, and cement, which are the symbolic relics of modernization, but also pioneered new ceramic genre that reproduced and transformed Korean traditional ceramics. However, as the Japanese participation was encouraged, the decline of the Joseon pottery industry accelerated and the identity of the handed down ceramics was confused. Accordingly, the role and status of the Japanese in the ceramics activities during the Japanese colonial period can be seen as a representative case formed by causing colonial partiality and imbalance in the Joseon ceramics industry.
