국문 초록

본 연구는 인간의 삶 속에서 경험의 본질을 규명하고, 예술에 접근함으로써 ‘일상의 경험’을 통해 미 적 의미와 표현을 찾고자 하였던 존 듀이(John Dewey)의 ‘경험철학’을 중심으로 그의 철학적 기반과 경험의개념, 핵심요소등을고찰한다. 이를토대로작품제작에있어적용될수있는미적경험의 성립원리와 과정을 제시하는데 연구의 목적이 있다. 본 연구는 II장에서는 일반적인 경험의 개념을 정리하고, 듀이 관점에서의 경험의 본질과 작용원리를 확인한다. III장에서는 듀이의 경험철학의 결정체라 할 수 있는 그의 저서 ‘경험으로서의 예술’이 지니는 가치와 주요 내용을 살펴보고, 미적 경험의 기본개념을 통해 경험 성립의 이론적 근거를 제시한다. 아울러 미적 경험의 본질인 ‘하나의 경험’에 대해 살펴본다. IV장에서는 창작자의 작품 제작에 있어 경험의 의미 형성 과정에 대해 살펴본다. 또한, 작품 제작에 있어 ‘경험이론’의 적용 가능성에 대해 알아보고 듀이의 미학적 관점에서 작품의 의미와 가치에 대해 논의한다. 이를 통해 듀이가 말하고자 하는 ‘경험철학’의 핵 심을 이해하고 공예가의 관점에서 작품 제작에 적용하고자 한다.

영문 초록

This study examines John Dewey s philosophy of experience, concept, and principles of establishment, focusing on John Dewey s ‘Art as Experience’, which sought to identify the essence of experience in human life and find aesthetic meaning and expression through daily experience. Based on this, the aim of the study is to represent the principles and processes of establishing aesthetic experiences that can be applied to the production of ceramic works. This work summarizes the concepts of experience in Chapter III and identifies the essence and working principles of experience from a Dewey’s perspective. Chapter III examines the values and main contents of Dewey s book ‘Art as Experience’, which can be called the core of Dewey s philosophy of experience, and presents the theoretical basis for the establishment of experience through the basic concept of aesthetic experience. I also look at the essence of aesthetic experience, ‘one experience’. Chapter IV explores the process of creating meaningful experiences in the production of the maker s work. In addition, I explore the applicability of the ‘experience theory’ in craft work production and discuss the meaning and value of the work from Dewey s aesthetic point of view. Through this, I want to understand the core of Dewey s experience theory and apply it to the production of works from the perspective of craftsmen.
