국문 초록

19세기 말 급격한 산업화로 인한 물질의 풍요로움에 비해 값싸고 품질이 저하된 대량 생산품의 물결 속에 인간의 삶의 질은 낮아지고 문화는 저급하게 변화되었다. 이러한 흐름에 위기감을 느낀 많은 예술 가들이 새로운 예술 즉 아르누보(Art Nouveau)를 통하여 이러한 위기를 벗어나려고 노력했다. 아르누보 는 회화나 조각 같은 한 분야에 영향을 준 양식이 아니다. 특별한 예술품에 머무르는 것이 아닌 일상의 거의 모든 물품을 포함한 삶 자체를 예술적으로 바꾸려 했던 운동이다. 이에 순수미술 보다 낮은 것으 로 취급되던 공예가 모든 예술의 통합이라는 목표 아래 아르누보에서 큰 지위를 얻으며 총체적 예술로 인정받게 되었다. 가구, 도자기, 유리 같은 일상 공예품들이 예술적 관점에서 제작될 수 있는 길을 열어 주었으며 현대 디자인에 있어 하나의 배경으로 자리 잡게 되었다. 또한 예술과 신기술인 기계의 협력을 인정하고 다양한 재료적 특성을 살리려 노력한 점과 건축 방식, 그리고 모든 예술의 종합이라는 이념은 후대의 바우하우스에 영향을 주게 된다. 아르누보는 동시다발적으로 유럽과 미국에서 유행하였는데 지역마다 부르는 명칭과 다른 특징을 가지 고 있다. 아르누보 시대의 도자공예는 금속 공예나 유리 공예처럼 눈에 띄는 발전을 이루지는 못했지만 기본적으로 자연을 모티브로 유기적이고 자유로운 형태적 특징이 있고, 과학과 기술의 발전으로 소재와 유약 부분에 있어 큰 진전을 이루었다. 프랑스 파리의 아르누보 도자기는 자연을 직접적이기 보다는 유려하며 미묘하게 표현했는데 이는 미 국 아르누보 도자공예 작가들에게 많은 영향을 끼친다. 프랑스 낭시에서는 자연을 매우 사실적으로 표 현한 낭시의 몇몇 작가들이 1차 세계대전 후에 아르누보의 영향에 의한 아르데코 작품을 제작하기도 했다. 네덜란드는 에그쉘 포셀린이라는 소지를 개발하여 아름답고 독창적인 아르누보 도자기를 제작했다. 급변하는 4차 산업혁명을 살아가는 현재는 아르누보가 시작된 19세기 말의 복잡한 사회상을 떠오르게 한다. 이에 예술가들은 다시 한 번 기계와 거대 자본 속에서 예술에 대한 새로운 정의를 내려야 할 것 이다. 즉 정보화 시대 이후를 견인 할 새로운 아르누보(new art)가 기대되는 시점이다.

영문 초록

In the end of the 19th century, the quality of human life was lowered and the culture was changed in a low level in the wave of mass products that were cheaper and poor quality compared to the richness of materials due to rapid industrialization. Many artists who felt crisis in this trend tried to escape this crisis through new art(Art Nouveau). Art Nouveau is not a form that influenced a field such as painting or sculpture. It is a movement to try to change the life itself, including almost everything in everyday life, rather than staying in a special artwork. Therefore, under the goal of integrating all arts, crafts that were regarded as lower than fine art gained great status in Art Nouveau and became recognized as a total art. Daily crafts such as furniture, ceramics, and glass have opened the way for an artistic point of view and have become a background in contemporary design. Also, the idea of recognizing the cooperation of machines, which are art and new technology, and trying to revive various material properties, the architectural style, and the synthesis of all arts influenced Bauhaus. Art Nouveau was popular in Europe and the United States at the same time, but it has different names and distinctive characteristics from region to region. Ceramic crafts of the Art Nouveau era did not make remarkable progress like metal crafts or glass crafts, but basically have organic and free morphological characteristics with nature motifs, and have made great progress in materials and glazes due to the development of science and technology. Art Nouveau ceramic in Paris, France, is more elegant and subtly expressed than direct, which has a great impact on American art Nouveau ceramic artists. The potters of Nancy, France, they expressed nature very realistically and produced art deco ceramic under the influence of Art Nouveau after World War I. The Netherlands developed an egg shell porcelain to create beautiful and original Art Nouveau ceramic. The present, which lives in the rapidly changing fourth industrial revolution, reminds me of the complex social image of the late 19th century when Art Nouveau began. Thus, artists will once again have to define a new definition of art in machines and huge capital. In other words, it is time to expect a new art to lead the post-informatization era.
