국문 초록

현대 건축은 종합적이고 다양한 재료를 무한하며 다양하게 적용할 수 있는 거대한 예술무대라 할 수 있다. 과거에는 건축에 사용하기 어려웠거나 불가능 했던 재료들이 지금은 과학 기술의 발달과 함께 건축에 적용될 수 있으며 또한 유비쿼터스 기술의 발달과 함께 건축은 점차 첨단의 길을 걷고 있다. 이러한 건축의 발전 속에 건축도자로 대변되는 번조 혹은 자연 건조되어 사용되는 도자제품들은 현대 사회에서 부족한 감성적 요인과 자연친화적이라는 점에서 건축재료 로서 강점을 유지하며 시각적으로 도시의 삭막함을 줄여 자연적인 느낌을 부여할 수 있다. 고화도로 번조되어 주로 쓰이는 대표적인 건축도자재인 벽돌과 타일은 건축시공 시 그 견고함과 외적 아름다움에도 불구하고 내장 벽체 혹은 마감용재로 건축물에 적용할 때 막대한 시공비와 조적 시 많은 시간이 드는 단점이 있다. 또한 벽돌은 점차 고화도로 번조 되며, 그 모양의 아름다움과 견고성에 주안점을 두고 발달하고 있다. 그러므로 최초의 점토를 성형하여 자연건조 시켜 제작한 자연건조된 점토벽돌의 장점들을 현재 일반적으로 사용되는 고화도로 번조된 벽돌에서는 구현하지 못하고 있다. 이에 새로운 개념의 건축 도자재를 기존의 제품과 차별되는 새로운 대안으로 제시하려한다. 자연건조 점토를 사용한 토벽(土壁)은 시공 시 간편하게 벽면을 구축함으로서 향후석고 보드와 같이 건축물 내부의 주요한 공한의 창조 및 분할의 역할을 수행 할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

Modern architecture is the experimental stage of varied & diversified construction material. The evolution of the technology and science introduce new material as a constructible resource. Consequently, modern architecture has been a setting for test and application ground for new material, which was impossible or inaccessible to building environment in relatively near past. Among these resources, ceramic products especially used to emphasize the natural characteristic by its sun-dried manufacturing procedure, sustainability, strong resiliency, and enduring application history as a building material. These products also supplement the lack of emotional feeling from modern society These merits of ceramic products by traditional manufacturing method was not adapted to modern architecture to meet the efficient construction cost and time management. As a result, the Brick products which survived as contemporary architecture material have to be baked at high temperature and dried at relatively short term of period to meet the boundary of the project budget. In these research, the new ceramic products; adobe clay wall, is tested and proposed as a supplement, and alternative for the traditional brick. The new concept and trial will be able to replace the current dry-wall which broadly used in the man made environment.
