백제연구소 40년의 연구성과와 과제

국문 초록

이 글은 백제연구소가 법정 연구소가 된지 40주년을 맞아 그 동안의 연구 성과를 종합적으로 정리하고, 향후 연구소의 효율적인 운영방안을 모색하기 위한 것이다. 백제연구소는 백제사 연구를 목적으로 출발하여 학제간 연구를 통해 연구 분야를 다양화시키고, 동아시아로 연구범위를 확대시켜 국제적인 학문교류를 위해 노력하였다. 이 과정에서 연구논문집인 『百濟硏究』70집을 비롯해 백제연구총서 13권, 학술연구총서 14권, 기타 4권 등을 발간하였다. 그리고 학술활동으로 66회의 공개강좌, 11회의국내 학술회의, 22회의 국제학술회의, 23회의 자료윤독회, 기타 6회의 초청강연회와 학술회의 등을 개최하였다. 이를 통해 백제연구소는 백제사 연구자들에게 다양한 연구 자료를 제공함으로써 백제사 연구의 토대를 마련하였으며, 각종 학술회의를 통해 연구자들의 연구역량 제고와 연구의 저변을 넓히는데 일조하였다. 또한 학제간 연구, 국제교류 등 다방면에서 많은 성과를 이루었다. 특히 1970년대 백제사 전공자가 많지 않았던 시기에 백제사에 대한 관심을 높이는데 크게 기여하였으며, 이후 백제사 연구자 배출에도 일정부분 영향을 주었다. 현재 많은 연구기관에서 기관의 설립목적에 따라 다양한 연구가 이루어지고 있지만 백제연구소의 활동은 오히려 위축되고 있는 상황이다. 이러한 환경변화 속에서 백제연구소의 기능과 역할을 재정립하기 위해 모색할 수 있는 몇 가지 방안을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This summary is for reviewing the research achievements comprehensively and identifying effective operational policies marking 40th anniversary of Baekje Research Institute as a legal agency. Being started with the aim of studying Baekje history, Baekje Research Institute has diversified the research areas through interdisciplinary research and expanded research scope into the East Asia region for the international academic exchange. Meanwhile, it published Baekje Research(『百濟硏究』) 70 editions which are the collection of research papers, 14 books of the academic study series and 4 other books. In addition, it held 66 academic open lectures, 11 local academic conferences, 22 international academic conferences, 23 research material reading sessions and 6 other special guest lectures and academic conferences. So, Baekje Research Institute could lay the foundation for Baekje history study by providing various materials to the researchers and contributed to expand the research base and strengthen the researchers’ capabilities through a lot of academic conferences. Furthermore, interdisciplinary study and international exchanges are also the fruitful results in various areas. In particular, it greatly attributed to bring attention to Baekje history despite the small number of relevant specialists in 1970s and have had an influence in part on producing Baekje history researchers. Currently diverse studies are being conducted according to the purpose of the establishment of the institutions but the activities of the Baekje Research Institute are weakening. Amid these environmental changes, several ways for redefining the function and role of the Baekje Research Institute are suggested in this summary.
