대학융합교육에 대한 교수자와 학습자 인식 조사

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은, 미래사회를 살아가야 하는 학습자들에게 융합교육이 필연적으로 요구되는 상황에서, 대학에서의 융합교육이 어느 방향으로 나아가야 할지, 그리고 어떻게 운영되어야 하는지를 결정하기 위한 기초 작업으로, 대학의 교수자와 학습자를 대상으로 융합교육의 개념과 목적, 성과, 전제조건 등에 대한 인식을 분석하는 것이었다. 이를 위해 수도권 소재 사립대학에 재직 중인 교수자와 학습자를 중심으로 설문 조사를 실시하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 먼저 대학에서 융합교육을 경험한 교수자와 학습자보다 경험하지 못한 교수자와 학습자가 더 많은 것으로 나타났다. 반면 필요성에 대해서는 교수자와 학습자 모두 긍정적인 응답을 보였다. 그리고 현재 대학에서 운영되는 융합교육의 개념과 바람직한 융합교육의 개념, 목적, 전제조건 등에 대해 교수자와 학습자는 서로 다른 응답을 하였다. 융합교육의 성과에 대해서는 교수자와 학습자 모두 정의적인 성과를 더 중요시하였다. 이상의 연구 결과를 토대로 대학에서의 융합교육 활성화 및 운영을 위해 다음과 같은 제언을 하였다. 첫째, 현재 대학에서 이루어지는 융합교육이 미흡하다는 것을 인정하고 이를 좀 더 활성화시킬 필요가 있으며, 이를 위해서는 대학 소속 교수자와 학습자의 융합교육에 대한 인식과 상황을 분석하여 대학 특성에 맞는 융합교육의 개념과 목적을 정립하고, 융합교육운영에 따른 부담감을 해소하는 제도적 장치나 평가 제도를 개선할 필요가 있음을 제언하였다. 둘째, 학교 차원에서 융합교육의 개념과 목적을 정립하고 가이드를 마련한 후에는 이를 교수자에게 알리고, 또한 교수자는 학기 초 학습자를 대상으로 융합교육의 목적, 수업 활동 등에 대한 오리엔테이션을 시행하도록 하는 체계 개발이 필요함을 제언하였다. 마지막으로 융합교육이 단순 흥미 위주의 수업으로 흐르지 않도록 하기 위해서는 교수자와 학습자 대상으로 융합교육에 대한 지속적인 교육이 필요함을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed professors and students’ perception on the concepts, goals, preconditions, and outcomes of convergence education in university, and considered the results as a groundwork for deciding its future direction and management. Professors and students in university located in the capital area participated in the survey questionnaire utilized in this study. Results indicate the following. First, the number of professors and students who have experienced convergence education was significantly less than those who did not, but both indicated low awareness of this concept. Nevertheless, the participants acknowledged the overall necessity of convergence education, thus showing a positive intention to practice (or take the class). Second, professors and students showed different perceptions on the concepts, goals, preconditions, and outcomes of convergence education, although they all emphasize emotional outcome. Based on the results, this study proposes that the concepts and goals of convergence education in university be established first by analyzing the professors and students perceptions, competencies, and the university’s situation. The school system, regulations, or assessment likewise need reformation to lessen their burden. Second, system development is necessary to verify the convergence education appropriate for a university, and important information on convergence education needs to be properly disseminated. Third, this information should be shared with the students during the first class by orientations and briefing, and the university should monitor this process continuously. In order to avoid practicing convergence education simply out of curiosity, each university should regularly conduct workshops and seminars for professors and students.
