국문 초록

미국공인회계사회는 1997년 12월 전자상거래업체 웹사이트의 안전성을 감사하여 인증해 주는 WebTrust 인증제도를 시행하였다. 그 후 캐나다, 호주 등 대부분의 선진국들이 이 서비스에 참여함으로써 WebTrust 인증은 전자상거래 인증분야에서 국제표준의 역할을 수행하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 회계감사의 새로운 영역으로 제시되고 있는 여러 가지 인증서비스에 대해 검토하고, WebTrust를 중심으로 한 전자상거래 및 전자상거래 인증서비스에 대해 살펴보았다. 본 연구는 회계실무, 회계학계와 전자상거래 업계에 다음과 같은 공헌을 할 것으로 기대된다. 첫째, 전자상거래 인증서비스의 도입을 고려하고 있는 국내의 현실에서 WebTrust 인증서비스에 대해 이론적으로 검토함으로써 전자상거래 인증서비스의 활성화에 기여할 수 있을 것이다. 둘째, 본 연구는 국내 공인회계사의 감사수입이 감소하고 있는 현실에서 감사영역의 확장방향을 제시할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

In recent years, the number of accounting researchers deals with auditing problems has grown, and many special-interest subgroups has arisen. Now there are several auditing researchers, such as environmental auditing, product quality auditing, IS system auditing and etc. And, the CPA profession make efforts in developing new assurance services to broaden CPA roles. The rapidly changing audit market and the development in information technology indicate that there are great possibilities that CPA profession needs to take initiative of development and enlargement of new assurance area. This study provides a comprehensive review of assurance service as a newly emerging auditing area, and analyzes electronic commerce assurance service of ensuring safe trading on the web, such as WebTrust, Trust･e, e-Trust and etc. The findings of this study are expected to contribute to accounting practice, academy of accounting and electronic commerce firms in the following ways. Domestically, as Korea is considering using the electronic commerce assurance service, this study will help promote adoption of WebTrust assurance service. This study has shown, in the midst of declining income of accouting firms by audit, a way to increase their audit boundary. Lastly, this study is hope to be a starting point of more researches into electronic commerce assurance service.
