소프트웨어 벤처기업의 재무적 성과 결정요인

국문 초록

재무적 성과는 경영성과의 가장 보편적 측정기준으로서 기업의 경제적 목표의 성취도를 나타내기 때문에 소프트웨어 벤처기업의 기업 성패를 예측하는데 중요한 자료로 활용될 수 있다. 본 연구는 정보화 사회의 중추산업으로서 그 중요성이 계속 높아지고 있는 소프트웨어 벤처기업의 어떤 요인이 재무적 성과에 영향을 미치는가를 실증적으로 검토한다. 그럼으로써 소프트웨어 벤처기업의 이해관계자들에게 동 산업 특유의 재무정보가 제공될 것이며, 관련 기업 및 단체 등이 필요로 하는 재무적 성과 결정요인이 명확하게 제시됨으로써 투자 및 경영의사결정이나 정책수립에 유용하게 이용될 수 있을 것이다. 선행연구를 바탕으로 소프트웨어 벤처기업의 특성을 창업자, 산업환경, 조직구조, 기술전략의 네 가지 특성으로 구분하고, 재무적 성과는 총자산순이익률, 매출액이익률, 매출액증가률로 하며 규모, 연륜, 업종, 벤처인증 여부, 수출집약도를 통제변수로 사용하였다. 기업 특성과 재무적 성과의 상관관계 및 회귀분석 결과 첫째, 수출기업, 경쟁상대가 다수인 기업, 분권화된 기업, 외부위협이 있는 기업, 선도적인 연구개발을 하거나 타 업체와 제휴하는 기업이 총자산순이익률과 매출액이익률이 높으며, 성장안정단계의 기업이 총자산순이익률이 높다. 창업자의 진취성, 전공, 지식성, 전문화화는 총자산순이익률에 부(-)의 영향을, 도전적 성향은 총자산순이익률을 높이는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 규모가 크고, 연륜이 오래된 기업의 매출액이익률이 낮으며, 패키지 소프트웨어 업종, 벤처인증기업, 분권화된 기업의 매출액증가률이 높다. 성장안정단계의 기업에서 매출액증가률이 낮으며, 외부위협 역시 매출액증가률에 부(-)의 영향을 미치고 있다. 선도연구개발 전략은 매출액증가률을 높이지만, 신기술 제품 및 기술획득 전략은 오히려 매출액증가률을 낮추는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 소프트웨어 벤처기업이 총자산순이익률과 매출액이익률을 높이기 위해서는 내수판매 증대와 더불어 수출활동을 병행해야 할 것이며, 창업자는 도전적으로 기업을 운영할 필요가 있다. 또한 조직을 분권화할 필요가 있으며, 성장안정단계에 조기 진입해야 할 것이다. 그리고 선도적인 연구개발 활동을 전개해야 하며, 타 업체와의 제휴를 통하여 기술우위를 확보해야 하고, 벤처기업으로 지정 받은 후 각종 지원들을 충분히 활용하기 위한 노력을 기울여야 할 것이다. 이와 같은 연구결과를 토대로 소프트웨어 벤처기업은 각 기업의 목표와 시장환경에 맞게 재무적 성과 결정요인들을 강화할 경우 보다 바람직한 경영성과를 거둘 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This study attempts to classify the characteristics of software venture business into four: a founder, industrial surroundings, systematic structures and technical strategy on the bais if orecedebt researcges. And then it uses the size, history, business model, venture authentication and export-intensiveness as a control variable by placing the net profit rate of total assets, the profit rate of sales, and growth rate of sales under the category of the financial performance. As a result of regression analysis and correlation between business features and the financial performance, the following results can be obtained. First, an export-oriented business, vervy competitive business, decentralized business, the business with external threat, the business with advanced research power and the business in cooperation with other businesses show high the net profit rate of total assets and the profitj rate of sales, while a growing and stable business shows the net profit rate of total assets. A founder s progressive spirit, technical knowledge, intellectual ability and professional faculty have a negative effect upon the net profit rate of total assets, while his or her moral attitude has a positive effect upon the net profit rate of total assets. Second, an old and large-scale business shows a very low profit rate of sales, while package software business, venture authentification busines and decentralized business show a high profit rate of sales. In addition, a growing and stable business shows a low profit rate of sales and business with external threat show a negative profit rate of sales. Additionally, the system should be decentralized and needs to make efforts to enter the stage of growth and stability. In this respect, the efforts must be made to conduct a leading research and development activities, has a technical superiority in cooperation with other businesses and utilize all kinds of supports after being designated as venture business. In conclusion, it is firmly believed that software venture business can be rewarded with desirably good fruits when it attempts to strengthen the decisive factors for financial performances in accordance with its target and the market condition on the basis of this research result.
