小南 李一雨의 삶과 한시 세계

국문 초록

小南 李一雨(1870~1936)는 한말에 출생하여 일제강점기를 살다간 사대부가의 인물이다. 본고에서는 소남의 한시 작품을 분석하여 그의 정신세계와 지향의지를 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 창작의 배경이 되는 삶의 궤적을 살피고 한시 작품을 주제별로 분류하여 고찰하였다. 소남은 타고난 성품이 자상하고 청렴하였으며 남에게 은혜를 베풀고는 항상 부족하다고 여겼다. 일상생활의 비용은 심하게 절약하였으나 어려운 사람을 구휼하고 난리를 구제할 때에는 곳간을 비워서라도 나누어 주었다. 義庄을 설치하여 곤궁한 사람을 도왔고 友弦書樓를 설립하여 인재를 양성하였다. 한일합병 이후에는 문을 닫고 칩거하며 자신과 집안을 단속하고 세속적인 문제에서 벗어나려고 하였다. 본고에서는 『城南世稿』에 수록된 작품을 대상으로 소남의 한시 세계를 분석하였다. 『城南世稿』에 수록된 한시는 모두 38제 46수이며 전부가 近體詩이다. 구체적으로 살펴보면 7언 율시가 30제 38수이고, 7언 절구가 5수이며, 5언 율시가 2수이고 5언 장편이 1수이다. 소남의 한시 세계는 脫俗의 경지, 愛族愛民 의식, 朋友間의 회포, 家族에 대한 그리움, 人生無常의 감회 등으로 구성되었다. 소남의 인생 역정이나 시문 창작의 수준 등을 고려하면 앞으로도 많은 작품이 발굴될 것으로 예상된다. 이후에 소남이 남긴 저술이 추가로 발굴되면 그에 대한 연구를 확대할 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

Sonam(小南) Lee Il-woo(李一雨, 1870~1936) was person of gentry families who was born in the end of the Joseon Dynasty, and lived in the period of Japanese occupation. In this paper, I sought to understand his spiritual world and orientation will by analysing Sonam’s classical chinese poetry works. For this purpose, I examined the traces of life which was the background of creation, then classified the works by themes. Sonam’s innate disposition was considerate and integrity, and he conferred a favor on a person but always felt insufficient. He severely saved the cost of daily living, but when he relieved the needy and rescued the disturbance, he emptied out the barn and dispensed grain to the poor. By installing Ui-jang(義庄), he helped people who were in need. Also, by founding the Woohyeon-seoru(友弦書樓), he fostered talented people. After the merger between Korea and Japan, he closed the door, cooped himself up, controlled himself and his family and tried to escape from secular matters. In this paper, I analyzed the classical chinese poetry world of Sonam with the works included in the 『Seongnam-sego(城南世稿)』. The poems in the 『Seongnam-sego(城南世稿)』 are all 38 titles and 46 poems, all of them are modern-style classical chinese poetry(近體詩). Specifically, the octonary with seven Chinese characters in each line (七言律詩) are 30 titles and 38 poems, the quatrain with seven Chinese characters in each line (七言絶句) are 5 poems, the octonary with five Chinese characters in each line (五言律詩) are 2 poems, and one long poem with five Chinese characters in each line (五言長篇). The poetry of Sonam were composed of a state of unworldliness, devotion to country and people, inmost thoughts between companions, the longing for his family, and feelings on transience of life etc. Considering his journey through life and the level of creation of poetry, many works are expected to be discovered in the future. Later, if the writings of Sonam will be discovered supplementally, it is necessary to expand research on works.
