2015 개정 교육과정에 따른 중·고등 『국어』, 『문학』교과서 수록 설화의 여성 형상화 방식과 그 교육의 문제

국문 초록

본고에서는 2022 교육과정의 개정을 앞두고, 현재 시행되고 있는 2015 개정 교육과정에 따른 중·고등 󰡔국어󰡕, 󰡔문학󰡕 교과서에 수록된 설화 작품에 드러난 여성 형상화 방식 및 그에 대한 교육내용의 현황을 살피는 것으로 설화 교육의 미래 지향에 대해 논의하였다. 교육의 국면에서 문학 작품과 학습 독자가 마주하는 방식을 고려하여, 수록 제재의 면면을 살펴보는 ‘무엇을’의 층위와 제재의 교육 내용화에 대해 살펴보는 ‘어떻게’의 층위로 나누어 설화의 여성 형상화 방식과 그 교육의 문제를 검토하였다. 그 결과, ‘무엇을’의 층위에서는 여러 여성 서사의 수록이 눈에 띄며 다양한 특성을 가진 여성의 형상 및 여성 영웅 인물에 대한 주목이 뒤따르는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. ‘어떻게’의 층위에서는 여성 인물에 대한 전통적 해석을 변주하여 현재적 관점에서의 해석을 더한 학습활동을 통해 새로운 교육 내용을 완성하는 바를 확인할 수 있었다. 이렇듯 설화의 여성 형상화 방식과 그 교육 내용의 문제를 검토한 바, 우선적으로는 문학 제재의 총체성을 구현할 방식에 대해 고민할 필요가 있다. 문학 제재의 경우 작품 자체가 가진 가치가 중요한 요소인 까닭에 기존의 문학 영역의 성취기준에 부합하면서도 작품의 가치를 간과하지 않는 학습 내용이 제공될 필요가 있다. 또한 시대의 변화에 따른 특정 개념의 의미역 변화나 소외되었던 여성 인물이 있음을 인식하고, 이것에 현재적인 해석을 더하여 교육의 국면에 반영해 나갈 필요가 있다. 살펴본 바, 교과서에서 다루는 ‘영웅성’ 개념의 의미역에 변화가 있었고, 이에 따라 기존의 건국 남성 영웅 서사가 배치되던 자리에 여성 영웅의 서사가 배치되며, 자연스럽게 달라진 영웅의 자질을 교육 내용으로 제시하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 고전문학은 과거의 것이기에 현재의 학습자들에게 불편함을 야기할 수 있겠으나, 그것에 담지된 시대적 인식의 전형을 짚어내고 언어로 드러내는 방식을 통해 현시대의 윤리 의식을 점검하는 ‘윤리적 잣대’로 활용할 수 있음에 대해 제안한 바 있다.

영문 초록

Ahead of the revision of the 2022 curriculum, this paper discusses the future direction of folktale education by examining the current status of female imagery methods and educational contents revealed in the folktale included in the textbooks for middle and high school Korean Language and Literature according to the 2015 revised curriculum. Considering the way literary works are delivered to the learning reader in the context of education, the method of female imagery in the folktale and the problem of education were reviewed by dividing it into the level of ‘what’ and the level of ‘how’. As a result, several female narratives stand out at the level of ‘what’. Therefore, it can be confirmed that there is attention on female figures and female hero figures with various characteristics. At the level of ‘how’, it was possible to confirm that new educational contents were completed through learning activities that varied the traditional interpretation of female figures and added interpretations from the present perspective. In this way, after examining the problem of the folktale s method of female imagery and its educational content, it is necessary to first consider the method of realizing the totality of a literary work. In the case of literary materials, since the value of the work itself is an important factor, it is necessary to provide learning content that meets the achievement standards of the existing literary field and does not overlook the value of the work. In addition, it is necessary to recognize that there are changes in specific concepts or alienated female figures according to the changes of the times, and diligently reflect them in the aspect of education by adding a current interpretation to this. As we have seen, there was a change in the meaning of the concept of ‘heroness’ covered in textbooks, and accordingly, the narrative of the female hero was placed in the place where the male heroic narrative of the founding of the nation was placed. Therefore, it was confirmed that the changed hero s qualities were presented as educational contents. Because classical literature is a thing of the past, it may cause discomfort to current learners. However, it is argued that it can be used as an ethical standard to check the current ethical consciousness through the method of pointing out the typicality of the perception of the times embodied in it and revealing it through language.
