환동해 문화권 설정과 한 ․ 일간의 교류

국문 초록

동해를 사이에 두고 있는 한국의 동해안과 일본의 서해안 일대의 문화가 공통적인 요소를 지니는 것이 많다. 그러한 예로 한국의 남부지방과 일본 규슈(九州)의 북부 지방에 존재하는 ‘당일우귀(當日于歸)’의 혼속을 예로 들었다. 일본에서는 야마도 시대(大和時代)에 일시적인 처가 거주혼의 형태를 취했다가, 무가 시대(武家時代)에 부가 거주혼이 성립되었다고 주장하고 있으나, 이것은 한국의 남부지방과 같은 문화를 가졌었기 때문에 이와 같은 문화적 동질성을 가지는 요소들이 존재한다고 생각된다. 이런 전제를 세우는 경우, 일본의 호쿠리쿠 지방(北陸地方)에서 문헌에 정착된 <가가국의 뱀과 지네가 싸우는 섬에 간 사람, 뱀을 구하고 섬에 산 이야기>가 신라의 경역에 존재한 것도 같은 문화권에 속하기 때문이라고 설명할 수 있을 것으로 보았다. 그리고 ‘환동해 문화권’의 설정이 가능하다는 것을 엿볼 수 있는 네 개의 이야기, 곧 가야의 왕자 <쯔누가아라시토 설화(都怒我阿羅斯等說話)>와, 신라의 왕자 <아메노히보코설화(天日槍說話)>, <연오랑 세오녀 설화(延烏郞細烏女說話)>, 고구려의 <날개옷 설화(羽衣說話) 등도 고찰하였다. 이들 설화의 고찰을 통해서, 한국으로부터 일본열도로 건너가는 해로(海路)는 상당히 여러 개가 있었으며, 또 이주 집단들도 꽤 많았다는 것을 구명하였다.

영문 초록

Across the east sea, the east coast of Korea and the west coast of Japan have many common cultural elements. As an example, the southern part of Korea and the northern part of Japanese Kyushu(九州) have a common traditional wedding(當日于歸), according to which the bride goes into husband s home on the wedding day. It is believed that between the two countries, there are several elements of cultural homogeneity of which example is a common traditional wedding, even though another theory was claimed in Japan, that there was a custom of temporary living in wife s home in Yamato era(大和时代) and living in husband s home in Samurai era(武家时代). On this basic premise, it can be explained that the folktale of Japan s Hokuriku(北陆地方) in which 〈A man from Gaga Kingdom arrived on the island with snakes and centipedes fighting against each other, and saved the snakes and lived on the island〉 also existed in Silla. There are another four examples of folktales which could be the base of the East Sea Rim Cultural Area Setting. They are the stories of 〈Tsnoogaarashito fable(都怒我阿羅斯等說 話)〉 of the prince of the Gaya Kingdom, 〈Amenohiboko fable(天日槍說話)〉 of the prince of Silla Kingdom, 〈Yeonohrang Seohnyeo fable(延烏郞細烏女說 話)〉, the Goguryeo Kingdom’s 〈Wing Clothes fable(羽衣说话)〉. A study of these narratives showed that there were several sea route and a good number of migrants from Korea to Japan.
