영문 초록

In this study, wood species of old houses, pavilions, and farm equipment was investigated in the Seoraksan area (Sokcho-si, Yangyang-gun and Inje-gun in Gangwon Province) according to the classification of traditional forest knowledge (TFK). Three species, Pinus sp., Larix sp. were identified. It was confirmed that the columns, stairs, and beams of the pavilion were undergoing initial deterioration, and the deterioration was also found in the columns, rafters, door frames, and beams of the old houses. The degree of deterioration was analyzed by using microscopic observation, which could not be investigated by visual observation, As a result, the wood members in pavilion and old houses were identified as Pinus was identified. A total of 16 Pinus and 1 Larix were identified. From the visual observation and microscopic observation, the degree of wood deterioration was evaluated, and the destruction of epidermal cells, fusiform ray and piceoid pit were revealed. The aim of this study was to develop a classification system for traditional forest knowledge to preserve Korea’s traditional forest knowledge and to provide sustainable use and basic data. Furthermore, a database according to the wood classification system will be developed from the continuous literature research and field research.
