『심청전』관련 설화의 전승 양상과 성격

국문 초록

『심청전』과 관련을 맺고 있는 설화 중에는 이 작품의 형성에 직접·간접으로 영향을 끼친 배경 설화가 있다. 배경 설화에는 태몽(胎夢) 설화, 효행(孝行) 설화, 인신공희(人身供犧) 설화, 재생(再生) 설화, 개안(開眼) 설화가 있다. 심청전 의 배경 설화 중 관음사 연기 설화 는 문학성이 뛰어난 작품인데, 『심청전』의 형성에 영향을 끼쳤을 것이다. 심청을 주인공으로 하여 그녀의 효행, 죽음과 재생을 이야기하는 ‘심청 설화’에는 백령도 지방에 전해 오는 『심청 전설』과 동해안 지방에 전해 오는 『심청굿 무가』가 있다. 『심청굿 무가』는 활자본 『심청전』의 영향을 받아서 형성된 것이다. 백령도 지역의 『심청 전설』은 『심청전』을 바탕으로 하여 형성된 전설이다. 『심청전』의 이본과 판소리 『심청가』를 보면, 심청이 나서 자란 곳은 황주 도화동이다. 그리고 심청이 죽었다가 살아난 곳은 장산곶과 백령도 사이에 있는 물살이 세기로 이름난 ‘인당수’이다. 그러므로 『심청전』의 배경이 된 곳은 황해도 황주에서 장산곶과 인당수를 지나 백령도 연봉, 연화리를 잇는 지역이 된다.

영문 초록

Some story, is called background folk tales, of folk tales related to「Simcheong-Jeon」infleunced directly or indirectly influenced on building up this production. The background folk tales are about a dream of conception, filial piety, human sacrifice, regeneration, opening one s eyes. 「Folk tale of GwanEumSa YeonGi」among the background folk tales which influenced on building up 「Simcheong-Jeon」 has a high level of literal artistry. Folk tale of SimCheong in which the heroine is Sim Cheong says stories about her filial piety, death and regeneration. Folk tale of SimCheong has 「the legend of SimCheong」 around in Baeknyeong Island in the West Sea and 「the song of exorcism by shaman」 around in the East Sea. 「The legend of SimCheong」in Baeknyeong Island was formed by 「Simcheong-Jeon」 and 「the song of exorcism by shaman」 in the East Sea was formed by a printed book 「Simcheong-Jeon」. The place where SimCheong was born and lived is Dohwa-Dong, Hwang-Ju, based on different versions of「Simcheong-Jeon」 and Pansori 「SimCheongGa」. Also, the place where SimCheong regenerated is Indangsu famous for a swift current, between Jangsangot and Baeknyeong Island. Accordingly, the background of 「Simcheong-Jeon」 becomes area from Hwang-Ju, Hwanghe-Do, through Jangsangot and Baeknyeong Island, to Yeonbong, Yeonhwa-Li.
