고등학생들의 역사 흥미에 영향을 미친 경험 요인 탐색

국문 초록

학생들의 역사 흥미 태도는 언제 형성되고, 어떤 경험 속에서 형성되는가? 본 연구는 충청북도 청주시에 소재한 일반계 고등학교 2개 학교의 3학년 학생들 353명을 대상으로 역사 흥미 태도의 형성 시기와 흥미 태도 형성에 영향을 미친 경험 요인을 찾기 위해 실시한 설문의 결과를 분석한 것이다. 그 결과, 남･여 고등학생들의 긍정적 흥미 태도는 주로 초등학교, 중학교 때에, 부정적 흥미 태도는 주로 중학교, 고등학교 때에 형성되는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 시기적으로 분석해 볼 때, 초등학교 시기 긍정적 흥미 태도에 영향을 준 것은 미디어 대중 매체 영역의 경험들이었다. 그리고 중학교 시기, 고등학교 시기 긍정적 흥미 태도에 영향을 준 것은 학교 영역의 경험들이었다. 본 연구의 조사 결과는 가장 중요한 역사 학습의 경험 영역이 결국 학교 영역일 수밖에 없음을 보여준다. 그리고 그 과정에서 교사는 학생들의 부정적 흥미 태도를 긍정적으로 변화시킬 수 있는 가장 중요한 요인이었다.

영문 초록

This study conducted a questionnaire to identify the time when students developed interest in history and the experiential factors affecting the formation of this attitude among 3rd grade at high schools in Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk Province, as well as statistically analyzed the responses. As a result, high school students formed a positive historical interest usually in elementary or middle school and a negative one usually in middle or high school. The students generally said that their experiences with the school domain were the major past experiences that influenced their historical interest. The findings show that the school domain is the most important venue of experiences for history learning. Indeed, the domain of school experiences made their historical interest positive or negative. Teachers need to play their roles in the process. They can stimulate the students positive or negative interest in history through the history of the same curriculum.
