국문 초록

본 연구에서는 최근 공동체적 관점에서 조직의 변화와 개선에 적극적으로 활용되고 있는 Change Laboratory Method(이하 CL)의 적용 사례를 분석하여, 초등 사회과 교사발달 연구에서의 CL 적용 가능성을 탐색해 보았다. 분석 결과, CL은 모순적 상황에서 시작된다는 점, 질문하기 과정을 통해서 참여자들의 협력과 비판적 활동을 지원한다는 점, 참여자가 속한 공동체의 문화를 변화시키는 특징이 밝혀졌다. 이와 같은 결과를 바탕으로 시사점을 도출해 보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 사회 교과의 특성상 사회 변화의 흐름을 반영하고 재구성할 수 있는 교사의 전문성이 요구되며, 특히 전 교과를 담당해야 하는 초등학교 교사들이 개인적인 노력으로 사회과에 대한 전문성을 갖추는 것은 어려우므로, 초등 사회과 교사발달을 지원할 수 있는 연구 방법의 탐색이 요청된다. 둘째, 협력과 상호작용이 중심이 되는 초등 사회과의 특징을 잘 구현하기 위해서는 이를 지도하는 교사 스스로가 그러한 학습 과정을 경험할 필요가 있는데, 이러한 측면에서 CL은 교사발달에 있어서 유용한 연구 방법이 된다.

영문 초록

This study investigated the applicability of Change Laboratory Method (referred as CL from this point), which is actively applied to the changes and improvements of the organization in the perspective of community, on the development of elementary school social studies teachers by analyzing the application cases of CL method. The result of the study suggested that the starting point of CL is the contradictory situation, supporting the cooperating and criticizing activities of the participants through the process of questioning, drawning result of changing the community or culture where the participants belong to. Based on these results of the study, the following implications were drawn. First, the professionalism of teachers to reflect and reconstruct the flows of social changes is required due to the characteristics of social studies. Especially, elementary school teachers are in charge of all subjects which make it hard for them to obtain professionalism on the social studies from their own efforts. Therefore, studies must be conducted to investigate the method to support the development of elementary school social teachers. Second, the teachers must have experience of the educational process of elementary school social studies, where cooperation and interaction are the essentials, in order to realize these characteristics of social studies well. The CL is a useful method of development of teachers in these perspectives.
