국문 초록

본 연구는 다문화교실에서 다문화교육을 하는 데에 문학 작품이 큰 역할을 할 수 있다고 보고, 작품 선정의 기준을 탐색하는 데에 목적이 있다. 다문화교육의 목표인 다문화 시대를 살아가는 데 필요한 지식과 기능, 태도의 교육을 위해서는 문학 작품을 활용한 교육이 필요하다. 문학 작품을 활용한 다문화교육은 학생이 쉽고 재미있게 다문화 사회의 현실을 인식하게 하고, 학생의 문화적 경험을 확장한다. 또한 다른 문화적 배경의 인물에게 공감하는 기회를 제공하며, 태도 교육이 가능하다. 그리고 교사가 다문화교실에서 다문화교육 내용을 직접 전달할 때 느끼는 부담감을 덜어준다. 문학 작품을 활용한 다문화교육의 원리로는 다문화 사회의 현실 인식 및 다른 문화 이해의 원리, 다른 문화권의 대상에 대한 감정이입의 원리, 다문화 사회의 일원으로서 정체성 형성의 원리를 들었다. 교육 원리에 따라 다섯 가지 작품 선정의 기준을 제시하였다. 다섯 가지 기준은 다문화 사회의 현실을 핍진하게 보여주는 작품, 문화적으로 공정한 시선에서 서술한 작품, 다문화로 인한 갈등 외에 다양한 갈등이 함께 드러나는 작품, 문화 간 유사성이 드러나는 작품, 독자의 수준을 고려하여 다문화 사회를 반영한 작품이다.

영문 초록

Literature is useful for teaching multicultural education in the multicultural classroom. So this study explore the standards of literary selection. The goal of multicultural education is knowledge and skills, attitudes that are necessary in multicultural settings. It is necessary to achieve the three objectives using literature education. Utilizing literature makes students aware of the reality of a multicultural society, expanding the cultural experience, providing an opportunity to sympathize with people in different cultural backgrounds and possible attitude training. Also literature can decrease the pressure on teachers when they speak directly about the educational content in a multicultural classroom. The principles based on the literature of multicultural education are as in the following: Understanding of reality and culture, empathy for people of other cultures, identity formation as part of a multicultural society. The standards of the literary texts selected for multicultural education are as in the following: Texts revealed the reality of a multicultural society well, texts described in culturally specific point of view, texts about a variety of conflicts, texts revealed similarities between cultures, considering the reader s level.
