한국 의료서비스 국제 수요특성 분석

국문 초록

제도품질의 상대적 차이는 국제 수요형성에 영향을 미치는 중요한 요인이다. 본 연구는 한국의 의료서비스 국제 수요를 세분화한 후 이동 그룹의 특성을 비교하고 분석함으로써 의료관광 활성화에 관한 시사점을 도출하기 위한 것으로 2009년부터 2016년까지 한국을 방문한 56개국 의료서비스 이용자 통계 데이터를 활용하여 수행되었다. 성장률과 점유률을 이용하여 BCG Matrix를 형성한 후 세부 유형별 의료관광 수요 결정요인을 규명하고 유형 간 결정요인을 비교분석하였다. 분석결과, 제도품질에서 비롯되는 상대적 의료품질 차이는 부(-), 상대적 의료비용 차이, 한국의료 인프라, 상대국 CPI는 정(+)의 관계가 나타났다. Martix 유형별로 살펴보면, 상대적 의료품질 차이는 Star와 Cash Cow 영역에서만 유의미한 관계가 나타났으며, 상대국의 구매력은 Dog 영역에서는 부(-), Cash Cow 영역에서는 정(+)의 관계가 나타났다. 유형 간 이동그룹별 평균비교 분석결과, Star → Cash Cow로 이동한 그룹이 상대적 의료품질의 차이가 다른 그룹에 비해 높고, 상대적 의료비용의 차이는 적은 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

This study is design to extract implications for the vitalization of medical tourism by segmenting Korea s international demand for medical services and then comparing and analyzing the characteristics of inter-type moving groups. This study uses the data of international service users from 56 countries who visited Korea from 2009 to 2016. Firstly, the BCG Matrix is formed by the growth rate and market share rate, and then the determinants of medical tourism demand for each specific type are identified and comparatively analyzed. And group the movement demand between matrix types and compare the characteristics between inter-type moving groups. The analysis results are as follows. Regarding the demand for medical tourism, the relative difference in medical quality was negative (-), the difference in relative medical cost, Korea s medical infrastructure, and the CPI of the other country showed a positive (+) relationship. By Martix type, the relative difference in medical quality showed a significant relationship only in the Star and Cash Cow types, and the purchasing power of the other country showed a negative (-) relationship in the Dog type and positive (+) relationship in the Cash Cow type. In the analysis of the characteristics of inter-type moving groups, the difference in relative medical quality was higher in the group moving from Star to Cash Cow than in other groups, and the difference in relative medical expenses was small.
