국문 초록

전시 포스터는 언어적 요소와 비언어적 요소의 함축된 비주얼로 메시지를 표현하며 호소력과 소구력을 갖는다. 본 연구는 전시 포스터에 나타나는 의미와 시각화에 대한 연구로 국립민속박물관에서 개최된 40년간의 기획 전시 포스터를 분석해 의미 패턴을 확인하였다. 시기별 전시 테마와 시각화 요소의 흐름을 파악하기 위해 기호의 공시성과 통시성, 퍼스의 기호 의미, 기호적 의미 해석과 언어적 표현 기법의 시각화에 대한 수사법 등을 통해 살펴보았고, 시각화 요소들의 비중과 추이를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 전시 테마는 사회, 문화적 흐름과 시대적 이슈들의 영향을 받아 의미와 표현 방식이 변화 하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 유물 중심에서 유물을 통해 사람이 살아가는 삶의 문화 전반에 걸친 이야기로 변화하는 양상이 보였고 시대별로 이슈가 되는 테마들이 부각되어 전시되는 것을 볼 수 있었다. 이미지, 색채, 타이포그래피로 표현되는 의미 시각화는 시대별로 각 요소 간에 특징적인 부분들이 보였는데 2010년대부터 눈에 띄는 다양한 변화와 시도가 이루어졌다. 일러스트가 시각적 디자인의 중요한 요소로 자리 잡았고 색채는 많은 컬러의 사용이 절제되었으나 색의 표현은 과감해 졌다. 타이포그래피는 문자가 이미지화 되어 표현 되는 것을 볼 수 있었다. 이러한 변화는 시각전달 과정의 의미와 수단이 풍부해 지면서 표현 방식이 다양해 졌기 때문으로 볼 수 있다. 그 동안 포스터에 대한 분석 연구는 선행되었으나, 심도 있는 의미 패턴 연구는 미비한바 본 연구는 기획되었고, 의미 시각화 연구를 통해 단순히 미학적 가치만 높이는 것이 아닌 시대적 트렌드, 기술적 요소, 의미의 전달력 측면 등을 모두 감안한 효과적인 메시지 커뮤니케이션을 위한 이론적 측면과 실용적 측면을 모두 감안한 연구로 의미가 있다.

영문 초록

The exhibition poster expresses the message with the implied visual of verbal and non-verbal elements, and has appeal and appeal. This study is a study on the meaning and visualization of exhibition posters, and the meaning patterns were identified by analyzing the posters for 40 years of planned exhibitions held at the National Folk Museum of Korea. In order to understand the exhibition theme by period and the flow of visualization elements, we looked at the synchrony and diachronism of signs, Perth s sign meanings, interpretation of symbolic meanings and rhetoric on visualization of verbal expression techniques, etc. and the weight and trend of visualization elements. was analyzed. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the meaning and expression methods of exhibition themes change under the influence of social and cultural flows and issues of the times. From the center of relics, through relics, there was a change in the story of the overall culture of people s lives, and the themes of each era were highlighted and displayed. In the visualization of meaning expressed through images, colors, and typography, characteristic parts were seen between each element by era, and various notable changes and attempts have been made since the 2010s. Illustration has established itself as an important element of visual design, and the use of many colors has been restrained, but the expression of color has become bolder. In the typography, it was possible to see that the characters were imaged and expressed. This change can be attributed to the diversification of expression methods as the meaning and means of the visual transmission process have been enriched. In the meantime, analysis research on posters has preceded, but in-depth semantic pattern research has been lacking, so this study was planned. It is meaningful as a study that considers both theoretical and practical aspects for effective message communication considering all factors.
