국문 초록

한국 기독교와 신학이 이 변혁기의 시대를 어떻게 극복해 나가며 근본적으로 요구되고 있는 변혁의 내용이 무엇인지를 살펴보고자 한다. 현대 기독교교육이라는 장을 통하여 특히 공공신학과의 대화를 통해 그 과제와 대안을 제시하는 데 있다. 이러한 문제의식을 위해 칼 바르트의 화해론과 현대 교육학자와의 비판적인 대화는 매우 중요한 연구가 되며, 한국 사회와 기독교교육학에 중요한 통찰을 줄 수가 있을 것이다. 먼저 본 연구는 칼 바르트의 신학에서 공공성을 살펴보기 위해서 그의 『교회 교의학』 중 ‘화해론’을 중심으로 바르트의 신학이 어떻게 공공성을 향해 나아가고 있는지를 제시할 것이다. 특히 칼 바르트 화해론의 구조 분석을 시도하고 여기서 화해와 해방의 차원, 기독교인의 소명과 책임성을 그의 신학적 인간학의 중심 주제인 동료 인간성(co-humanity)과 더불어 검토한다. 그리고 바르트 신학이 시민 사회에 줄 수 있는 공공 책임성과 자본주의 사회를 지배하는 주인 없는 세력에 대한 그의 비판을 위해 열어놓는다. 이것은 바르트의 화해론에 담겨져 있는 비판과 시민 사회론을 해방의 교육과 매개함으로써 화해 신학이 공공 교육으로서 갖는 위치를 설정하는 단초가 될 것이다. 화해를 기초로 하는 해방 교육론이 새롭게 등장할 수가 있다.

영문 초록

This paper explores the extent to which the Korean Protestant Church and theology are successfully meeting the challenge coming of the era of transition; it seeks to know what is fundamentally required for the transformation of the Korean Protestant Church. Tasks and alternatives are presented through reflection on Modern Christian Education, especially through dialogue with public theology. With this problem in mind, I focus on Karl Barth’s ‘Doctrine of Reconciliation’ and enter into critical dialogue with modern pedagogists; it will be a substantial research project and provide important insights into Korean society and Christian Education. First of all, this study will present how Barth’s theology in Church Dogmatics is moving toward publicity, or the public sphere in terms of the ‘Doctrine of Reconciliation.’ The paper examines the public nature and character of Barth’s theology. In particular, Karl Barth undertakes a structural analysis of the ‘Doctrine of Reconciliation’ and examines the dimension of reconciliation and liberation. This lens helps me evaluate the calling and responsibility of Christians, along with co-humanity, as the central subject of his theological anthropology. What remains crucial is the critical implication of Barth’s theology in confronting the lordless forces that dominate State and capitalist society. This perspective will serve as the basis for reconciliation theology to establish itself as an approach to public education. Criticism and civil society theories contained in Barth’s ‘Doctrine of Reconciliation’ should be mediated and compared with liberation education. Thus liberation pedagogy based on reconciliation can emerge anew.
